Hey! Thank you very much for adding that image for the Grinchlin Stalker, if you find other image for the Grinchlin Thwacker/Scorcher with better quality (and to fix my grammar when i wrote the article, i'm sorry) i would be very grateful :)

I don't know whether you'll check this again. And if you do, you might find this message irritating. But thank you for all of your work on the wiki. Thank you for your research into shields and other aspects of the game. Your effort has not gone unnoticed, and I'm sad to see you leave. Happy travels. I was gonna draw a thing, but then I realized that I can't draw very well under stress! We didn't always agree on things, but in the end what all of us have made so far has made the community pretty happy. Hope to keep seeing you in-game. -Novaster 11:42, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

As far as I can see Vial Belt.png uploaded just fine, and is visible on the Pickups page. What you may have seen was the wiki's old habit of taking forever to get up to speed with a newly uploaded image. --Lithium31337 05:25, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

Went through and "fixed" rarity icons. All that's left is outdated filenames on the Supply Depot page, which is currently protected, so I can't edit it. Would you mind changing the filenames to the ones used on the wiki now (all examples on Rarity page)? Or you could unprotect the page (again, haha - like you did so I could link to Supply Depot Sale stuff). The risk here is that I might not be online when it's unprotected, I suppose.

To be completely honest, I was trying to get images of about all the evolutions and their ultimate variants rather than just a huge group picture of all of them, luckily after constant waiting, I was able to get nearly everything. Midnight-Violet 21:11, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Just got fed up with a switch system, but I realize this sort of "reuploading things to better names" activity isn't ideal. There's a lot of inconsistencies on the wiki when it comes to this sort of thing (materials, perks, etc), and well, I've decided that it's not worth anybody's time (certainly not mine) to "fix" this sort of issue by reuploading files to better names, when you can just make an ugly (but functional) switch. There's more reasons than time though:

Request Image
+
:1) the game could give multiple functions to a single entity, as with "buff" effects (pickup items as well as triggered by monsters on each other or battle sprites on knights is just one example) - I just fixed duplicate file issues regarding these today
 +
:2) the game could change the arsenal classification of an item to be another arsenal classification, potentially rendering filenames inaccurate, and a hassle to "fix" if there's hundreds of them. But nobody really sees filenames except editors, so inaccurate filenames of this specific kind don't matter as long as published page content is clear, right?
 +
:3) we are at risk of losing easy access to archive data using the "reupload to a better filename to fix" method. I've often used the date an original icon was uploaded to make sense of the order of events. For example, I used the file history of the accessory icons for several of the older Round Shade accessory items to try and discern the relative date Round Shades were first released (not everything has release notes or admin posts), and a few others.

Hello Acies, i saw that you took a perfect image for the mission interface The Gauntlet: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/The_Gauntlet

In the future, I'll be sure to just deal with a messy switch that only editors who have to muck around with code have to see. I'll "fix" odds and ends that I see though, like if someone just uploads a file to ads;jkflhasdfjkh.jpg or something like that :)

My request is: Can you do the same for the ancient generator and crossing the chasm article? Many thanks!

should I put the above reasons in a sort of "how to wiki" guide (a few of us are planning on revamping the style guide page to be more up to date), if you think they're prudent/correct?

:I've fixed the icons. I'm not sure why you have to reupload them when it's so much easier to move the images to a better name. Just provide me with a specific list and the proposed names and I'll move them. --Clotho 16:52, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

Can i re-add the vog cub for historical purposes? I forgot to add the obsolete tag. :/ --DragonFaku

+
:I can't really say for historical purposes. I've seen a lot of people try to add it for historical purposes but it just flat out isn't in the game nor has it even been. Vog Cubs have never existed in the game. If there was a point where it was in game aside from the promotional trailer, that would be a different story like with the Golden Trojan or Golden Gun Puppy, they both existed during Private Beta and were removed later. Vog Cub doesn't follow this rule hence it shouldn't be noted. --Acies 23:56, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Clotho's Talk Page

Here's a huge important chunk of what you missed regarding the leadup to even bothering making that tag (also sent you this mail in game):

Went through and "fixed" rarity icons. All that's left is outdated filenames on the Supply Depot page, which is currently protected, so I can't edit it. Would you mind changing the filenames to the ones used on the wiki now (all examples on Rarity page)? Or you could unprotect the page (again, haha - like you did so I could link to Supply Depot Sale stuff). The risk here is that I might not be online when it's unprotected, I suppose.

1) the game could give multiple functions to a single entity, as with "buff" effects (pickup items as well as triggered by monsters on each other or battle sprites on knights is just one example) - I just fixed duplicate file issues regarding these today
2) the game could change the arsenal classification of an item to be another arsenal classification, potentially rendering filenames inaccurate, and a hassle to "fix" if there's hundreds of them. But nobody really sees filenames except editors, so inaccurate filenames of this specific kind don't matter as long as published page content is clear, right?
3) we are at risk of losing easy access to archive data using the "reupload to a better filename to fix" method. I've often used the date an original icon was uploaded to make sense of the order of events. For example, I used the file history of the accessory icons for several of the older Round Shade accessory items to try and discern the relative date Round Shades were first released (not everything has release notes or admin posts), and a few others.

In the future, I'll be sure to just deal with a messy switch that only editors who have to muck around with code have to see. I'll "fix" odds and ends that I see though, like if someone just uploads a file to ads;jkflhasdfjkh.jpg or something like that :)

should I put the above reasons in a sort of "how to wiki" guide (a few of us are planning on revamping the style guide page to be more up to date), if you think they're prudent/correct?
