Any user can delete content by editing a page, removing or replacing content, and saving. The content will still be available via the page history unless the page is fully deleted by an admin.

Why delete pages?

Deletion often results in a mess of other issues. It's not always the best option.

Attempt to improve a dubious page before considering it for deletion. Someone or perhaps a group of editors put effort into its publication, and there are usually good reasons for these pages - though they may be outdated and require too much work when other, newer publications cover the page's function. It's a good idea to check the page's history and see if any editor comments shed light on the deletion decision.

In many cases, redirects should be heavily considered as an alternative in order to maintain both internal and external linking.

Sometimes a page is simply obviously in need of deletion.

If the page seems in need of deletion, then editors can call an admin's attention to the issue via proposal. This does not mean the page will be deleted - editors will tend to discuss the more important proposals, and the tag might be removed if a conclusion is reached. If an admin is available, pages will generally be deleted within a week if editors have not opposed the deletion, or the majority of those involved in its discussion agree that it should be deleted. As such, discussions and/or reasons for deletion are taken seriously, are witnessed, and carefully considered by an admin before full deletion.

A list of fully deleted pages can be found in the wiki's deletion log.
