Hello my fellow wiki editors.

Today i was looking at the March of the Tortodrones (Mission) page, and had to ask myself:

Why do i need this "March of the Tortodrones (Mission)" is part of "March of the Tortodrones" info...

I agree that this little Event topic Template can actually be useful. eg. for the Pumpkin King some players might not know that he is part of the "Dark Harvest Festival" BUT does it really have to be the first thig on that page?

So i would like to get a few opinions on these two questions:
a) is this information really THAT important to be on the very top of the page?
b) is it really neccessary to have it on every page, even though the Mission name is exactly identical with the Event name.

thanks -Thepc 22:13, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

Several interesting points. IMO, headers (besides Template:opinion) shouldn't be used on the wiki. Where do we draw the line? Headers interrupt the flow of reading the page, and they're supposed to do that to get your attention, but SK has a lot of transient things, and a lot of crazy exceptions and ways you can royally screw up pretty much everywhere. Nearly everything needs a wallethazardous Icon-alert.png on it really. So let's respect the time and effort of the creator and come to a decision as editors:

I'd like to do one of the following:

1) remove Template:Eventexpired, Template:Reskin, Template:Expiring, and any other similar headers (besides Template:opinion) from usage around wiki, making sure to emphasize these facts immediately on the page (like I have with "blahblah is an event-exclusive mission"). This way, we get the "warning" out that we want to, without disrupting wiki format.
2) move headers (except Template:opinion) over to the right, shrink width/height, and use a different image (or also shrink the image) so they're snug with the infobox.
3) agree on where to draw the line regarding headers. If things like "reskin" and "expiring" save someone's wallet, they're worth keeping. Most of the nature of SK is transient - so removing this Template:Eventexpired (that really only emphasizes the nearly-default, transient nature of most things in sk), but keeping the others, would also be fine. Example: would you use a header like this on every promotional item? Or iron lockbox items now that we have a monthly rotation of those?
4) do nothing. Have a party.

I'd vote for option #3. --Novaster 22:35, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

Well thanks for your answer! not quite the 'opinion' i expected but ok lets do a voting!
Since your option 3 is basically my post, asking others on their opinion, i'll take option 3. But option 1 would be also okay for me. -Thepc 22:58, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

I would like to keep the headers, they don't have to be as big (#2 sounds nice), though i would actually like to have them on more pages (for example Obsidian Edge)(so #3 here). -Hennils 00:59, 02. April 2015 (UTC)

My main concern is making sure we don't cater the wiki to people who don't read it. After we finish more pressing projects, I'll design something I think will work - it will involve the icon for the Mysterious Alchemy Machine. Feel free to design something in the Sandbox for us to vote on, too. -Novaster 01:18, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

I think 3 is my option, i like expiring and reskin header (specially reskin) buuuut i had found "Event" tag kinda annoying at some point, they do their job buuuuut i think they create more problems xD. I would like something that doesnt look like the header of reskin or expiring, but smaller and simple, like an icon "alert-like" with bold/cursive text and the link to the Event. not that "huge" beige block --Hikaru 22:37, 12 October 2015 (UTC) PD: Option 4 sounds tenting tho, who doesnt like a party? with food plz --Hikaru 22:37, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
