The Dark Harvest Festival is an annual event.

Overview

This event honors the mischievous Punkin King in order to ensure a healthy fall harvest for Haven. All Clockwork Tunnels-style levels like Power Complexes and Blast Chambers now have a chance of featuring special rooms inhabited by the Punkin King. Simply hop on the party pad and discover if the Punkin King has candy tokens or something else in store for you! - Forum Post.

Gameplay

Arcade

The Punkin King can be found in areas that spawn in Clockwork Tunnels-Style levels in the Arcade during the event. Similar to Scenario Rooms, these areas have a chance to randomly appear in appropriate arcade levels. Players should be prepared for a TRICK or a TREAT when stepping on the party button in these rooms.

Prestige

The Dark Harvest is a prestige mission where you can find the Punkin King. This mission can be completed once per day and is only available during this event.

Rewards and Prizes

Token Exchange

Along with the merrily menacing monster that is the Pumpkin King, there are several other things out there to show off the Dark Harvest spirit! Maskwell and Bulky come to town with their plethora of masks, only wanting candy in return! These masks come in fabulous flavors, each in three varieties.

Players can earn Candy Tokens from encountering the Punkin King (hard, sour, sweet) or Grim Scarabs (brittle) and exchange them for various prizes with Maskwell.

Players can also purchase a Prize Box:

Notes

Haven will have a spooky atmosphere and soundtrack for the duration of this event. Passive Gourdlings will wander randomly about.

Other events considered "scary" or "spooky" by the community (such as the Shroud of the Apocrea) are not directly tied into the Dark Harvest Festival. These events just sometimes occur simultaneously.

Farming Tips

Since events last a short time, players like to figure out how to most efficiently obtain an event's prizes. For the Dark Harvest Festival, this means gathering Candy Tokens.

Hard, Sour, and Sweet candy tokens are dropped by the Punkin King. Since the event's prestige (The Dark Harvest) can only be played once a day, getting friends together to search the Arcade for his lairs is a good way to go. Search alone until a lair is found, then invite 3 more people and step on the party button for either a TRICK or a TREAT. Many friends searching alone all at once and inviting each other this way is likely to yield lots of candy. See the Punkin King's page on this wiki for more information on the TRICK scenario.

Brittle candy tokens are dropped by defeated Grim Gourdlings, which appear when a Grim Scarab is defeated. These enemies are encountered in Graveyard levels. A Grim Scarab might appear when the player gets close to a grave. The bug has a chance to "replace" a Dust Zombie grave spawn. If players wish to "spam" or "grind" graveyards quickly to find many Brittle candy tokens, the first floor of the 9-1 Rank Mission "An Occurrence at Owlite Keep" is a good farming location.
