To see older versions of an image, navigate to that image's file page and scroll to the bottom. If there were older versions uploaded, they will be visible there.

It usually preferable to upload new versions of an image rather than uploading an image to a new filename.
This tag should therefore only be used on files that are images of completely obsolete entities, subjects, and/or filenames that no longer make sense. That being said,
