Hello, I go by Sparrow.

I have a degree in Business Management with a focus on marketing, and I relied on both my education and personal experience while developing this project.

This storyboard was created as a collaboration between myself and the artist Shipitsama. While I developed the concept, direction, and presentation of the project, all artwork and visual illustration were created by Shipitsama.

For this storyboard, I chose four uniquely distinct knight characters in an effort to appeal to different types of players within the gaming audience. The use of four main characters also serves to highlight Spiral Knights core four player cooperative gameplay. Each character was given a unique set of weapons and gear to showcase a variety of potential playstyles available to new players.

I selected the level Firestorm Citadel because it subtly communicates a long-term goal for new players: reaching endgame content and eventually facing one of the game’s most iconic bosses, Lord Vanaduke. At the same time, the setting creates an immediate sense of familiarity and recognition for returning and veteran players.

The verbiage used throughout the storyboard is intentionally brief and emotionally charged in order to create a sense of significance and heroism. The short, impactful phrasing acts as a call to action, encouraging viewers to feel drawn into the world and motivated to experience the game for themselves.

Because this concept may be adapted into a trailer or promotional piece, I wanted the characters and environment to instantly communicate both variety and nostalgia. My goal was to create something visually engaging for new audiences while still resonating with longtime fans of Spiral Knights.

I have in game reference material for the knight designs, as well as preliminary sketch drafts for the storyboard available upon request.

Both myself and the artist are open to future creative and professional opportunities, including marketing, concept development, promotional design, and collaborative game-related projects.
