THE PURPOSE OF THIS SK WIKIPAGE...
*To explain what the CID Movement is about.
*To make Individuals and Guilds who Support the CID Movement aware of each other.
*To facilitate Chivalric GvG Matchups between Active LD Guilds - and even some Guilds more casual about LD - who are subscribing Adherants of the CID Movement.
NOTE: If anything you read on this Page seems a bit unclear or even confusing, please make me aware of it. I tend to think differently from most people...

==WHAT IS "CID"?==
CID means "Chivalry Isn't Dead" and is an SK Social Movement with a Primary and Secondary Objective regarding Guild Lockdown. It was born on Sept. 14th '12...
*It's Primary Objective is to encourage the proliferation of Active T2/T3 Lockdown Guilds which embrace the practice of competing in GvG Lockdown with no, few or only low-level UVs on their Competition Equipped Gears, according to the ToE* embraced by each Lockdown Guild individually.
 *Terms of Engagement
*It's Secondary Objective is to Petition Spiral HQ to create a seperate Leaderboard* for T2 Lockdown Guilds in general, and perhaps specifically those that embrace the CID movement.
 *This is just about a "hotfix", not anything to do with the complete overhaul the current Leaderboard System really needs...
*It DOES NOT intend to subvert any Players from their current Guilds, and IS NOT Promoting the owning and use of non or lower UVed Gears ONLY, either in general Clockworks Running or in LD specifically.
If you personally endorse the entirety or at least the Secondary Objective of this Movement, then please leave your name - or take a vote among your Guild's Members and leave the name of your Guild if the majority favors either - on the Discussion Page, and it will be added to the appropriate Listing.

==Suggested ToEs==
 NOTE: This is not Official yet. Please give your thoughts about these points on the Discussion Page under Suggestions, or ask a Question.

The Teams involved in CID GvG LD Matches are encouraged to meet on equal Terms of Engagement(ToEs) whenever possible. That is the point of Chivalry, and Chivalry is the point of this Movement...

*The use of Mist/CE Revives are generally to be prohibited in CID GvG LD Matches. However, if both Teams wish to make an exception in any Match, that is their choice. As to the number of Revives permitted, I suggest All or Nothing...

*Using the Healing Pads is another matter to be considered by each GvG LD Team. They are there and their use is a matter of skill/strategy, so it will generally be permitted. If, however, some Teams wish to engage in Duels or Deathmatches, again, that is their choice. I consider one-on-one Duels and Melee Deathmatches to be just as chivalrous, and even more courageous...

*The Roles selected by each Team's member are another matter. Even though Recon seems to be the least popular Role, I encourage its use, if simply on the basis that it IS an available Option. Personal Choice by each competitor or direction from the Team Captain/Commander, seem to me to be the simplest way to go. However, I wish to encourage the formation of Teams consisting of 2 members filling each Role on each Team, as the Standard for CID Matches, with the Role played by each Competitor remaining Static(unchanging) throughout the entirety of the Match.

Each GvG LD Team created for - and registered with - the CID Movement will indicate the HIGHest UVs LIMIT they need - to accomidate their favored Loadouts for CID Matches - as well as the LOWest they can/are willing to accomidate. With regard to the latter, personal choice and the desire to be able to face more opposing Teams is much more the issue...

UVs LIMITs Options Listing(Feedback Welcome!)
* (1) No UVs at all(The Ideal, but not very realistic with Random UVs coming from Alchemizing Gears...)
* (2) 1 Low-Med UV for either Helm or Armor
* (3) 1 Low-Med UV for any 1 Weapon
* (4) Up to 1 Low-Med UV for each Gear Type(Probably the most realistic/workable...)
* (5) 1 Low-Med UV Combo(2x) for any 1 Gear
* (6) Up to a total of 3 Low-Med UVs for any Gears(...Along...)
* (7) Up to a total of 5 Low-Med UVs for any Gears(...with...)
* (8) Up to a total of 7 Low-Med UVs for any Gears(...these.)
* (0) Custom Guild ToE
NOTE: The UV Limit applies to EACH "set" of Gears you mark for PvP, NOT to all of them combined; whichever Loadouts you have PvP-marked NONE of them may exceed the HIGHest UV Limit involved in the Match.

RECAP: So the Standard in ToEs for the CID Movement is No Revives at all, Free Use of the Healing Pads, Static and Even Pairs of the Roles(2x2, 2x2, 2x2) and UV Limit (4), with NO Trink/Weap. Slots(see Below).

==The "Problem" of Balancing 2-3*+4-5* Competitor Mixes With Trinkets and Extra Weapon Slots==
The Suggested ToEs(^above^) do not encompass the matter of Active Trinket/Weapon Slots Upgrades being Utilized during CID GvG LD Matches. The simplest thing is to not allow any participants to use Trinket/Weapon Slot Upgrades. However, since 2 and 3* + 4 and 5* Gear Users will often be mixed together in the T2 and T3 levels of CID GvG LD Competition, some allowances MAY be made. My "solution" to this issue follows. Your Feedback is most welcome!

I am inclined to create and endorse the use of a Player-by-Player Comparative System, but even as simple as it may be, it could still be a real pain for some Players to learn and adhere to.
*Rating "A" = at least 3 PvP Loadouts of Purely 3* Gears. "AA" = at least 5 Loadouts. "AAA" = at least 7 Loadouts or more.
*Rating "B" = at least 3 PvP Loadouts of Mostly 3* Gears. "BB" and "BBB" = the same meanings as outlined for AA and AAA.
*Rating "C" = at least 3 PvP Loadouts of 50/50 2-3* Gears. "CC" and "CCC" = the same meanings as outlined for AA and AAA.
*Rating "D" = at least 3 PvP Loadouts of Mostly 2* Gears. "DD" and "DDD" = the same meanings as outlined for AA and AAA.
*Rating "E" = at least 3 PvP Loadouts of Purely 2* Gears. "EE" and "EEE" = the same meanings as outlined for AA and AAA.
Additionally, each Player's current Trinket and Weapon Slot capability needs to have an identifier. I suggest W+1(or 2) and Tx1(or 2)
 "Rating" EXAMPLE: "DD/W+2/Tx1" = Player has 5 or 6 PvP Marked Loadouts of Mostly 2* Gears with both Extra Weapon Slots and 1 Trinket Slot utilized
And then the Balancing System might work something like this...

"E"s are entitled to use up to 3 Additional Slots - of their choosing - if all Opposing Players are of the "C" Ratings or lower, and All Additional Slots if all Opposing Players are of the "B" Ratings or higher.

"D"s are entitled to use up to 2 Additional Slots - of their choosing - if all Opposing Players are of the "B" Ratings or lower, and 3 Additional Slots if all Opposing Players are of the "A" Ratings.

"C"s are only entitled to use 2 Trinket Slots. The one Exception is if all Opposing Players of the "E" Ratings are using both Extra Weapon Slots, then "C"s may use 1 Extra Weapon Slot.

"B"s are only entitled to use 1 Trinket Slot. The one Exception is if all Opposing Players of the "D" Ratings are using both Extra Weapon Slots, then "B"s may use 1 Extra Weapon Slot.

"A"s are not entitled to use Trinkets or Extra Weapon Slots, with these two Exceptions:
*If all Opponent Players of the "D" Ratings are using both Extra Weapon Slots, then "A"s may use 1 Trinket Slot.
*If all Opponent Players of the "C" Ratings are using 2 Trinket Slots and 1 Extra Weapon Slot, then "A"s may use 1 Weapon Slot.

As you can see, the above is pretty involved. Which is why I think it is best to NOT allow the use of ANY Trinkets and Extra Weapon Slots in CID LD Matches. However, if that seems to most to be too restrictive, then the use of Trinket and Extra Weapon Slots can be the CID equivalent of the heavy UV usage often seen in T3 LD. I know I personally would hate to have Active Trinket/Weapon Slot Upgrades and not be able to make use of them...

==Current CID GvG LD Teams and Their WoE*s==
Rough Windows of Engagement* - usually 30-60 minute blocks - when a particular GvG LD Team will often be available for challenges from other CID Adherance Guilds.
 *All times given are in Spiral Knights Master Time/Western server/(SKMT/Ws/) (The SKMT differencial for the Eastern server is +5hours /Ws/)
Each Guild LD Team is encouraged to have an experienced LD Player act as Commander/Captain, who will police her/his Team for ToE Adherance, fair Use of Trinket/Weapon Slots and accurate Arsenal Ratings(if implemented).

==Seducing T3 Lockdown Guilds==
I talked with two different Top 10 GvG Lockdown Guild GMs, and they weren't very encouraging. I can understand that. Members of the serious T3 Lockdown Guilds are heavily invested in UVed Gears, to the tune of millions of cr for most of them. Many of them don't even own non or lower UVed Gears of any Type... However, I have done some thinking and a bit of rough calculating and have come up with a few points.
*(1) 15-25 Lines of Gears taken to 3* should only cost around 150-350Kr... Not much when compared with all the Millions T3 UVers invest. And many T3 LD Guilders probably still have all the Recipes they need anyway.
*(2) Serious T2 LD Guilds are a breeding ground for the T3 LD Players of the future, so Scouting and Training doesn't seem too much to ask or hope for. And the new Spectator Mode makes Scouting easy...
*(3) T3 LD Guilds don't have to make it a regular practice to "slum" with the T2 LD Guilds if they don't want to. I'm just suggesting 1-3 Matches once or twice a week with the T2 Guilds of their preferrence, perhaps on a scheduled basis, perhaps just randomly as T3 LD Guild Teams feel like it and as T2 Guild Lockdown Teams are Available and/or Inviting.

==Other Possibilities for the Future of the CID Movement==
I may lend more weight to the CID Movement by Creating a T2/T3 LD Guild of my own, one that Promotes it vigourously. If I do so, I will feel Entitled to pursue the following Policies for the CID Movement, as I will then be both its Originator and the Founding GM of a Guild which will be Dedicated to it...

1) I WILL encourage the practice of "Member Trading" between LD Guilds, for the purpose of building Rosters of players for Lockdown which tend to syncronize in regard to the times they are Logged Into SK... I don't think Loyalty to any one Guild should come before the efficiant organization of LD Guilds to enable the maximum occurance of Matches at all hours of the day. Whether this is primarily bourne out of a competitive spirit or simply fun, I do not particularly care.

2) I'll ALSO encourage 'Equalizing", the practice of Members migrating from a larger LD Guild to a smaller one, to make the creation of Guild Lockdown Teams easier to accomplish in the smaller LD Guild.

3) Additionally, I WILL encourage LD Guilds who intend to engage in GvG to form "Guildrons" by cutting off their Recruitment to keep their Guild Population at between 10-30 players total*. The Exception will be those LD Guilds that intend to nurture LD Players for the purpose of creating Recruiting Pools for other LD Guilds - both those newly formed and those long-established - or simply to send off their "extra" Officers and Veterans to form new LD Guilds.
 *This can be a sufficiant LD Guild Population, if its Member Log-ins are well synced...the reason for "Member Trading", "Equalizing" and Point "4"

4) And lastly, I DO encourage "Comparative/Cooperative Scheduling", the practice of LD Guild Members making their usual Log In times a matter of public record, for the purpose of efficiancy in building GvG LD Teams within their own Guild, and for the reference of other GvG LD Guilds to allow for scheduling adjustments, if necessary, for more regular GvG Matches between GvG LD Guilds.
