Items are objects which can be acquired by players. They may either be consumed immediately, be placed on the Knight's belt, or be placed in the Knight's Arsenal (inventory).
Item Subcategories
Consumables
These are items that can only be found inside Gates. Walking over them will cause a Knight to immediately consume them, if they are capable of doing so. Examples include Crowns and Heat.
Pickups
These are transient items, meaning that they will not be brought back to town with the Knight. They are placed on the Knight's belt, and can be utilized via quick access keys (default are the keys 1~5). Examples include Health Capsules and Vials.
Arsenal Items
These are items that are placed into the Knight's Arsenal (inventory). Examples include Swords, Armors, and Materials.
Equipment
Equipment are types of items that can be wielded by a Knight, allowing them to take place in combat.
Minerals
Minerals are vital resources used in the construction of new gates.
Materials
Materials are used exclusively for the creation of other items, in a process known as Alchemy.
Recipes
Recipes are used to create other items through Alchemy.
Upgrades
Upgrades are items that unlock premium features of Spiral Knights.
Travel Passes
Travel Passes enable players to travel from town to town.
