The Night Owls Lore and Legend

Tales have been told of the legendary clan who thrived even before the great crash on the Cradle. This clan honed the fiercest warriors with the sharpest of blades and quickest of feet. These creatures tamed the lands and built magnificent ruins, their hearts chilled with the cold winds of determination. However, Lord Vanaduke of the Firestorm Citadel had other intentions of grasping claim of the legendary clan's territory. The poor warriors were no match for Lord Vanaduke, and the fiery lord took his rest deep in the Core of Cradle. It wasn't until long after the great crash when the Spiral Knights began to notice their distinct and personalities that made them different. They were determined, brave, strong fighters who one day became SnowClan, a new clan of knights intent on gaining back their land and one day vanquishing Vanaduke once and for all. One graceful leader with wings brighter than one-thousand suns stepped forward to speak with Lord Vanaduke one day, weapons aside. She spoke with a whisper softer than the sweetest sound. "Lord Vanaduke, rest now. Our time of war is over for now. May You and SnowClan sleep for many a generation until the owl's 'hoo' waketh your truest power." Grabbing her mighty sword, the great SnowClan leader was able to place a curse on Lord Vanaduke, eternally weakening his state from his original might. However, Lord Vanaduke was crafty, constructing a monstrous clone of himself hidden deep within the darkest shadows... Darkfire Vanaduke.

Brief Overview

Hello, and welcome to The Night Owls, the BEST variation~! Before we get started, we just want to say that our guild is still growing as it is rather new! This guild is primarily for players who game during their evening hours, no matter where you live. Though we are small, when there are others online, we are sure to take advantage of the amount of activity and engage in mission races and quizzes as well as other events. Many of our events and personalities as a whole branch off of a couple other guilds. A place made for nighttime fun, hop on in and join us~!

Guild Recruitment and Promotion

To become part of The Night Owls is a very simple feat indeed. Just ask and you will be queued for an invite!
  • We recommend you be at least 2* (Obtain Two Star Gear) before joining so that you can take part in races and have basic knowledge of the game.

Member

Becoming a Member is rather simple, just stay in the guild and play actively for a few days, get to know the officers and other members well, and the position is yours! You are the backbone of the guild. Without you, we'd be nothing but an immersion of random players. YOU define our character. Be proud to be a Horned Owlite.

  • Access to the guild hall.
  • You may receive help on missions from any of the members, vets, and/or officers online.
  • If you are Tier 2 and up, you may partake in quizzes, mission races, and random raffles!
  • Access to Member Storage and Member Doors.
  • NOTE If we find that you have been stealing from member storage without permission or notifying someone online, consequences will be held. The members of this guild are very generous as is and may even give you things for free! Please do not take advantage of us. We can see "who dun it".
Veteran
[Become one with the wind, Wise Owlite. Carry on your knowledge to the young ones.]
Must be competent in Tier 3.
  • Access to the guild hall.
  • You may receive help on missions from any of the members, vets, and/or officers online.
  • If you are Tier 2 and up, you may partake in quizzes, mission races, and random raffles!
  • Access to Veteran Storage and Veteran Doors.
  • Access to aid in Design Mode.
  • Influence over new guild rules.
  • Veterans may be called to Officer duties and may be temporarily promoted. This is only given to Veterans of which have earned the trust of the Officers and GMs.

Test Rules To become a veteran you must travel with an officer or GM from Emberlight, the City of Gremlins, to The Core, the heart of the planet we live on. During he test, the officer may aid you in battle, but will primarily stand from afar to watch. This test is to make sure you can aid your fellow guild-mates in their battles. All minerals must be broken and all enemies must be defeated. Take into account that the more members in a party, the more HP the enemies have. There is no time limit. If the officer does not feel you posses enough leadership qualities, you will NOT persist in asking for promotion, as it may result in demotion.

Officer

Must be competent in Tier 3. Being an officer, you must be able to attend meetings with the guild master an help with shaping new rules. Officers are the overseers of the rest of the guild and should have great versatility in Tier 3.

  • You may receive help on missions from any of the members, vets, and/or officers online.
  • If you are Tier 3, you may partake in quizzes, mission races, and random raffles!
  • Access to Officer Storage and Officer Doors.
  • Access to aid in Design Mode.
  • Influence over new guild rules.
  • Ability to recruit and promote/demote (With permission)

NOTE Not only must you be able to pass the veteran test with 5* gear, you also must have the full trust of both GMs, Alarune and Dahkura, in order to be promoted. We will only promote you if we believe you will benefit us more as one of the leaders of our guild. Please do NOT ask for a promotion, as it may result in demotion or lack of influence over the guild.

Guild Master

It was the lovely Alarune's idea to begin her own guild with the financial aid of a few others. She is not as active as she could be so she entrusted her guild management to Dahkura, the more active GM. As of right now, the option of being a Guild Master isn't available as of right now and may not be.

Guild Rules

Of course there are going to be guild rules. What do you think we are, a buncha "WHO"ligans? HAHA. Hhaahahahhhaa. H-hhhaaaa.... Follow these rules.

  • Have a good attitude. We are a very nice bunch, some or more with a darker sense of humor though. Know your limits and have fun.
  • Be Mature. Come on, now. No harassment or fan-trolling. You're better than that. Have respect for your guildmates.
  • Be Active. But I mean, how could you stay away from someone as great as us~?
  • No begging. Asking for help to get something is one thing. Excessive begging will result in a warning. There is a difference between begging and getting the help you deserve. We are generous enough anyways.
  • No illegal activities will be tolerated. (i.e. scamming)
  • If there are any members harassing you, try to take care of it in Personal Messages, not Guild Chat. You can swear at them all you want there~
  • Watch your language.

Kicking and Reinstatement

Sometimes people get on our nerves and simply don't want to follow rules, so unfortunately, we must remove them from the guild. There is a way to get back in though. We believe in second chances.

  • Be patient. You'll be back sooner than you think. Enjoy your freedom~
  • Do not repetitively leave and rejoin the guild. This tampers with our numbers and shows that we have a lack of backbone trying to keep our members intact.
  • Ask a guild master or officer what needs to be done for you to be reinstated.
  • Depending on what you were removed for, the length of exile will be determined upon such.

Permaban is a last resort and we will usually never have to get to that point, however, expect reluctance if your warnings are frequent.

Events

We're a rather small guild, so events don't happen too often. We only try to plan events when a majority of the active players are online and not busy. Our current events consist of:

  • Races and Bets
  • Quiz Shows
  • Random Raffles
  • GvG Events (Once we get more good PvP members~)

Guild History

From the words of Dahkura.

"Ah good lord, the fun I have had on Spiral Knights in my old guild, Devilite Inc. I have to thank Alarune for bringing me to this game in the first place many moons ago. If not for her, none of this would be here today. As thanks for the experience, I decided to branch off of Devilite Inc. to run The Night Owls with her to not only make more people happy, but to better myself as a leader. True, parting was difficult and a few people bashed me for leaving, but everyone got over it because there was no turning back. I'll never be "glad" I left, but I am glad that I get to have a new experience with Alarune and lead a guild with the knowledge I got from knights like Sirthomasrb and Jedcpf, Kurzatem and Biolover, Instant-Noodles, Blitzter, Yanda... I could go on for days naming everyone. Hopefully I can help out with turning this guild into something more than a game, but an adventure~!"
