Who is Tqs-Remx?

If I were to summarise myself in three words they would be:

  • Analyser
  • SEA's PvE-King (dude that's not 1 word)
  • Insanity

As a 90+ day 'total game time' player (game timer at 96:18:36:29 as of now), there is very little things that an endgame Knight, especially if they're F2P, can do that will have a significant impact on their gameplay style or on the value of their weapons and equipment.

I am, and I acknowledge that I am, on the verge of quitting Spiral Knights as long as it does not offer any new content. I still continue to play as I have not reached my personal endgame which consist of optimal uvs on certain weapons and completing all the shadow lairs. But once I have acquired said uvs and conquered all shadow lairs, I will most certainly disappear and leave this wonderful game that I have invested so much time and effort :C Of course, I'll come back for new patches and content.

So, let me expand on the three words describing myself:

  • Analyser

Spiral Knights, in my perspective, is not a complex game in comparison to AAA MMORPGs out there. Therefore it does not take much effort to understand the fine details of the game in terms of game mechanics, armor and weapon stats, enemy stats. All it takes is experience, access to the number values of armor and weapons stats (in which SK wiki is so useful) and most importantly - Intuition. I cannot stress how important intuition is in determining the gamestyle that you develop which in turn dictates the overall difficulty of any improvements and achievements. Intuition also plays a significant role in your decision towards optimisation of your weapons and armor as, for example, if your... ah use your intuition to figure out what I mean.

  • SEA's PvE-King

Yes, I dubbed myself as PvE-King of SEA, with confidence. For I have not seen anyone who has the same high levels of latency as me and still be to achieve such pro gameplay (once again, experience and intuition allows me to objectively judge). Furthermore, as SEA's PvE-King, my gameplay style allows me to survive much longer than players with full OP US connection. (Hey! A king must survive all his battle to be useful to his kingdom :3) I guess paying $100+ per month on an excellent internet connection is a good investment.

PvP on the other hand, well that's a different story. High latency + data packet loss = tp everywhere + getting hit from attacks 10 meters away. Its just not fun.

  • Insanity

Does that need to be explained?

Spiral Knights Career

The Beginning

The first guild, The Lone Wolves, has taught me the skills and responsibilities of a Guild Master with many thanks and respects to Ehsan, the founder of The Lone Wolves. Here, I was able to advance rapidly through T1 and T2 faster than any other guild members at that time, until I reached the Tier ceiling of T3, only able to slowly farm my way into T3 with constant JK runs. Hard it was to discontinue the title of Guild Master and leave The Lone Wolves in order to progress into T3, I look back in hindsight and understand that it was necessary for me to do so. Ehsan also understood my rationale of leaving and also left with me. Ehsan later decided to quit SK. R.I.P Ehsan.

Of course, with lingering responsibilities of an ex-Guild Master, I appointed a trustworthy friend of mine, Titanatour, to continue on the duties of my beloved guild and to continue on the visions that I have placed upon him and The Lone Wolves. I continue to remain in contact with him to give advice and guidance.

The Transition

Guild surfing was the terminology that I would refer to during this period. Jumping from guild to guild to see if any of those guilds would assist me in becoming an advanced T3 player. Soon after, I ended guild surfing with the joining of The Risen. Soon after that, I was farming Vana and once again, rapidly advancing and expanding my arsenal faster than any other recruit/member/Veteran of the guild. The guild was great, as being appointed to Officer and not Guild Master *phew* (I'm kinda tired of being responsible for any guild), and soon it become perfect with the guild merge with Unity. Here, I kept a low key profile, sitting comfortably at Member status, until the ex-members of The Risen decided to separate from Unity and become Incomplete. Joined Incomplete and various events occurred... Became Guild Master for another guild again. Wanted to leave Incomplete, but Whitelancer personally invited me to join Valkyrie Knights.

So here I am, current guild is with Valkyrie Knights.

The Future?

Now that I'm currently in the endgame phase, I'm constantly experimenting with new weapons and loadouts. I'm also periodically setting challenges for myself and recording them (check out my Youtube Channel!) in order to analyse, improve and to exceed any limitations of my PvE skills. I've also been very active with the PvP community, solely active in T3 LD and I have been achieving some good results lately with high average damage output of 11k damage (high in a sense that I have only 1 bar of connection [>250ms latency] because I live in the SEA region). I think that having 'Valkyrie Knights' under my name has improved my LD playstyle.
