Special Effect are animated graphical entities added onto many items in Spiral Knights. These are organized by behavior on this wiki. Please note that these are not official terms used in the game itself.

  • Some accessories might be considered "pure special effects", such as auras. These effects are hard to classify, but there are a few main types that appear quite often.
  • Check out the Special Effects subcategories to search for various items that have these effects. Some items have more than one special effect! Sometimes the effect is only on one or a few areas of the entity, not the entire form.
  • Graphics settings may change how some of these effects look in certain environments. Even some effects can change how things look - ghostly aura tends to shade things quite a bit, for example.
  • A few color schemes commonly have certain special effects (but not always):
    • Volcanic: Glowing and Shedding
    • Divine: Shining
    • Shadow: Shedding
    • Prismatic: Glowing
