Offenses:
Damage type(s) and Attack Speed influence combat. The attack style of the weapon in relation to the combat environment is also important. Consider both when choosing weapons to wield.

Abilities:
Boosts and Penalties are both considered "abilities" in general. Many items don't have any special abilities. See the Abilities page for details. Some enemies are immune to certain status conditions - see individual status pages for details.

The Troika is a 2-star sword.

Description

A low-tech sword that makes up for its lack of high internal power with sheer weight and size. It is capable of delivering crushing blows for those that can handle it.

Attacks

The Troika's attacks excel particularly at knocking back many enemies at once before they can strike, clearing them away if the player is being boxed in. The downside is that against single targets, the slow attack speed hinders the overall damage per second, and against larger enemies that are more resistant to knock-back or enemies with ranged attacks, the player may find themselves getting counter-attacked before their own attack animation finishes. For this reason it's essential to have an alternative to the Troika's usual attack at hand when situations such as this present themselves.

Basic Attack

A powerful, if slow, 2-hit combo that covers a full 180 degree arc in front of the knight on both swings. The first hit is stationary and has a one square radius with a fair knockback. The second hit will move the knight one square forward and does a stronger attack with a 2 square radius reach.

Charge Attack

The Troika's charge attack will lunge the attacking knight about 2 1/2 squares forward and smash the area yet another 1 1/2 squares forward, hitting everything within a single square from the blast. This hit has no knock-back or status effect but is followed by a flash of light which does still more damage, applies heavy knock-back to enemies hit, and has a chance of inflicting stun on the monsters. The blast's knock-back is stronger than the second swing of the normal combo. When you charge the attack, your movement speed will be slightly slower than usual.

Notes

Troika, Khorovod, and Sudaruska are apparently named after Russian dances.

Troika and Khorovod were available when the game launched on release 2011-04-04. They did not have a 5-star version until release 2011-08-02. Troika's charge attack was changed in release 2012-03-22. Its recipe was changed in release 2013-07-30.
