WeaponInfo
Huge help, thanks a lot. Just watch those capitals. If it's an entity seen in-game, it's capital, if it's yes/no, it's lowercase. -Novaster 01:55, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Did i mess it up somewhere or is this just a reminder? -Hennils 01:59, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
I found one or two, I'll check you later if you want (or you can check yourself). -Novaster 02:01, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hm, seems like i should really check, if all those categories are. I'll look through them myself. -Hennils 02:03, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, preview really helps. If it just says "Yes" in the abilities section, that's fishy. -Novaster 02:08, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- 'kay, 0/1/2* Weapons should be fine now. Gonna get some ability images. -Hennils 02:25, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Careful! Make sure you upload English language abilities to the English wiki. -Novaster 02:27, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Any idea, why the ability pictures you uploaded (Beast Basher and Proto Bomb) don't get shown on the actual pages? -Hennils 02:55, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Try saving the page to force them to show faster. -Novaster 02:57, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Why are some of the weapons listed after their first letter and not their *-rank? -Hennils 03:06, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
The wiki takes a while to process hundreds of pages when categories change. It should get through it all within 24 hours. -Novaster 03:08, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- 0/1* ability images done (except Cold Snap, Red Saber) See you tomorrow
yaaaaaay! -Novaster 04:18, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Images
Don't upload new ones if there's no need to (wiki takes forever to update new-versons-of-existing-files changes). My game also has it "not as fat" - the tooltip box only has so much character space per line, doesn't matter how big you manage to make your game window. Anyway.... to make the wiki consistent, sometimes editors have to tweak images a little bit. As long as the information is correct and not heavily modified, it doesn't have to be a perfect replica of what's in-game. In fact, sometimes the in-game rotation tooltip is shoved off the screen (many gunner items are), and sometimes information is just very wrong too (like sudaruska etc. don't even show stun, but they totally stun). So editors just do their best to be correct/consistent - usually this syncs up with what the game shows, rarely it doesn't. Don't sweat it if it's just a line break. I mean the game is just gonna update anyway, probably...like right now most of the images we've uploaded for armor accessories are "wrong" but support told me something along the lines of "well, they're still sufficient." Just make sure players are getting correct information. -Novaster 17:39, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Collections, Sets, and Whatever
I have simplified things. Regarding the infobox, only include links to items if they are in a set. A set is defined (as far as I can tell based on feedback) as:
items are very obviously related because they share similar names, stats, and abilities.
Otherwise the infobox template will default to a link that directs users to the set page - thus isolating the infobox section to sets, and not mentioning the other types of collections. Basically, it's too difficult to include all the wayward information (and too much work when it comes to prize box contents), so we just link to an umbrella term. There is enough desire to have this kind of information in the infobox, (discussed here), so it's worth getting it right, right? There's usually a lot of hiccups when new groundwork is being laid down, but the rest of the infobox is solid, so don't worry about this little bit. We've been trying for a long time to discern what a set is - it was simpler years ago, but now there's a lot more items with weird names. -Novaster 21:34, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
