Gremlin Scorchers are a type of monster found in the Clockworks.

Traits

Scorchers are the slower, and in later tiers, bulky Gremlins found in the Clockworks. Like their cousins, the Demo and Thwacker, Scorchers will use health capsules to continue their burning pursuit of intruding knights. Attacking with a flamethrower, these Gremlins have no fear of a knight's projectiles and will continue to set the level ablaze. In addition to playing with fire, Scorchers can shoot their own slow-moving bullets. In tier 3, they gain the ability to unleash an incinerating wave towards their opponents. At those depths, Scorchers are also known to throw oil slicks before an attack, increasing a knight's chances of burning with fire and anger.

Gremlin Scorchers deal Normal in tier 1, split with Elemental damage in tier 2, and pure Elemental damage in tier 3. Non-emberbolt attacks have a chance of inflicting Fire.

Grinchlin Scorcher

Strategy

  • Unlike most Gremlins, Scorchers do not attempt to dodge gunfire. Attacking from a distance can give you much more room to dodge incoming flamethrowers and projectiles.
  • Scorchers move much more slowly than a typical Gremlin, and their longer range comes at the cost of slower attack speed. As a result, fast attacks with swords that knock the Gremlins over are also a viable strategy to defeating these Gremlins.
  • When the attack animation is green Scorchers will shoot bullets. When the attack animation is red Scorchers will shoot flames despite the fact that it does elemental damage.

Notes

The Grinchlin Scorcher alludes to the Dr. Seuss story How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
