The Aurora Isles is a region. Regions categorize levels with similar characteristics that have been incorporated into the Clockworks.

Description
From atop mysterious floating islands, sun bleached ruins crumble under a false sky. Though the green grass and cool air feels real enough, the ever present grinding of the machine just below the surface is a constant reminder of this world's mechanical skeleton.
Notes
Each level map is fixed (vs. composed of random segments). When accessible via the arcade, they are always found in a rotation of 4 levels in the depth they occupy. The level rotation is 2 minutes. Compared to other areas, the Aurora Isles are a rare sight in arcade gates.
Levels are populated by multitudes of Wolvers and Jelly Cubes. A few Chromalisks, Lichens, and Lumbers appear in certain levels, and Gun Puppies only show up in The Low Gardens.
Similar grassy terrain can be seen in Jigsaw Valley and Treasure Vault areas. The Aurora Isles seem to be associated with the obsolete Starlight Cradle area, sharing similar terrain and soundtrack.
History
The Aurora Isles area has been available for exploration since release 2011-04-04 when the game officially launched.
The Sea Petal Pass level (part of the Firefly Gate) was not released with the game's launch.
An encounter with the obsolete Jelly Green Giant monster was also not released with the game's launch. Its fight room can still be seen, but not accessed.[1]
The 2-2 rank mission "Skies Under Cradle" showcased this set of levels. This mission was removed with release 2013-07-30.
Strategy
A shadow sword will take care of slimes and is fine against beasts. A bomb such as the Obsidian Crusher or Dark Retribution will help quickly defeat groups of enemies here. Bring a handgun for Gun Puppies (such as the Polaris or Winter Grave) if exploring The Low Gardens. Bring a handgun for the puzzle in Stone Grove.
