Guild Summary

We are a friendly, helpful and fun guild who value politeness and activity over which tier a member has (or has not) achieved access to. Our membership is international in its participation – we have members from countries including, Serbia, North America, The United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, Finland and Romania. Whatever time-zone you are in – it is likely fellow Aeonic Doom guildmates will be online.

Recruitment

Unlike some other guilds, our recruitment process has always focused on quality over quantity. We do not recruit players who are previously unknown to us (i.e. we do not spam invites). The only way a player can become a member of Aeonic Doom is for one of our members to have met you in-game and to have spent some time running the clockworks with you and getting to know you a little. Afterward, that member may pass on your name to an officer or GM and request a guild invite be sent. Such requests will usually be honoured, unless the potential recipient is previously known to us as behaving in a manner that would contravene our guild rules. To receive an invite from Aeonic Doom should therefore be considered a privilege in itself.

For this reason our number is increasing at a slow but steady rate. However, due to the selectivity of the invite process, we have a very low rate of member departure and our members tend to be skilled, mature, knowledgeable, friendly and willing to converse over guild chat. As well as discussing SK, our members have been known to talk together on topics including philosophy, music, games, books, the Internet, cars and film (as well as sharing the odd joke).

Activities

Many of our members are active participants in the SK forums. We routinely venture to FSC, JK and IMF and we have also been known on occasion to take newer players in our guild down to meet the dreaded Snarby. We encourage our members to help one another develop as players – Examples of such efforts historically have included, explaining how to make best use of the AH, giving away unwanted weapons, crafting recipes, giving mats (or selling at discount), lending or giving away CE or crowns, exchanging game strategies and tips and getting together on guild runs. Some of our members also enjoy blast network, although we do not expect members to participate -- we respect the fact that different players enjoy different aspects of the game.

Guild Rules

• 1.Do not partake in any activity in-game that might bring our guild name into disrepute. Such activities include scamming, spamming, trolling, bullying, harassing or otherwise irritating other players (note sending numerous unsolicited trade-requests also counts in this category).

• 2.Be polite in guild chat – and remember that some of our members are under 18 years of age (i.e some topics of conversation may be inappropriate - use common sense here).

• 3.Although we encourage our members to help one-another in game, do not expect as a given that you will automatically be provided with items, ce, crowns or time from other guild members – It is entirely at each individual member's discretion whether or not to give these things. As a general rule-of-thumb, the more you put in to the guild, the more others begin to recognise your efforts and are willing to help you when needed.

• 4.Do not harass other guild members for invites while they are on runs – One request is enough, more than this can be off-putting. If you receive a reply from a player stating that they do not wish to invite you to their party, do not then proceed to then say, "please/pl0x/plz/pls" or any other derivative; ask "Why?"; start giving reasons for why you feel you should be invited, e.g. "I am really good at [Stratum theme/Boss name]" or, "I just need another 2K crowns to buy this new weapon". Just take the answer as "No" and respect your guildmate's wishes.

• 5.When on a run or blast network game, do not repeatedly invite other guild members. One invite is enough. More than this is considered spamming. In a similar vein to rule 4, if a guild member does not join from your invite, you must accept the fact and move on without harassing them.

• 6.If you expect to be away from the game for any extended period of time, you must contact a GM or officer to let them know (otherwise you may be removed from the guild for inactivity).

• 7.Please notify guild member(s) if your asking them to join to revive a dead party that has been wiped out. We've been getting complaints lately and we ask that you follow this rule.

Guild Ranks

• Recruit: These are players who have been recently recruited into the guild on a probationary trial basis.

• Member: These are players who have been recruits for some time and have shown themselves in the opinion of the GM's and Officer(s) to: (a) be an active player (b) regularly and frequently take part in guild chat, (c) follow guild rules and (d) have displayed willingness to participate in guild activities and to help in the development of the guild and/or its members.

• Veteran: This position is reserved for very long standing members of the guild. Veterans will be experienced and highly knowledgeable about the game, reliable and suitable role-models for members and recruits.

• Officer: The fact that any member of the guild can request a new recruit be invited means there is no need to create a large number of officer posts within the guild. An officer of Aeonic Doom is therefore considered an extremely active, knowledgeable, diligent and helpful guild member. They will (in addition to meeting the requirements of member and veteran positions) have made outstanding efforts to contribute both strategically and materially to the guild and development of guild members. GMs will elect officers as deemed appropriate and when positions become available (i.e. it does not follow that every member will eventually become an officer). Officers should be considered akin in standing to GMs in terms of seniority.

• Guild Master: The guild masters (GM's) are the original founders of Aeonic Doom. Also, an exception was made, as a GM had to leave for a short (Hopefully) period of time, and another GM was added as a replacement. (Mrgreedy was added by SF and Hitsublast a week later by Myrtle, something to do with Myrtle wanting 4 active GM's. Feel free to contact Myrtle, Hitsublast, Mrgreedy or Pront-Zors in game. Preferred in that order)

Announcements

This is a section where the Guild Masters of Aeonic Doom and it's officer post announcements of the future plans that reffer strictly to the guild or the guild members.

1. The highly-professional planned murder of Dominarr: So basically the guilty one - Dominarr - made ( Intentionally or not) a bump on an old thread of Hitsublast's. Therefore right after the bump, Hitsu recieved spams of offers. In the first place he thought he was confused with Hitblast - Hitsu is usually confused with the simillar named knight - but then he remembered he had a thread in which he wanted to buy simillar things the guys had offered. And after he saw the name Dominarr in a post where he bumped, Hitsu finally realised his evil devilish plan. And now unfortunately for Dom, he will have to explain this to Hitsu and eventually die in pain, in the fire of Hell. Dominarr you are going to be murdered! O.o

EDIT: Dom had been assassinated; Now his soul is shattered in 42 pieces!

Notice of SL to come, either 11-26-11 or 12-3-11 (Most likely the 26th, will know Monday evening) MrGreedy is looking for 3 people to go to shadow lair of the twins. Cost is 375ce or material at the end. Also looking for setup for twins, Grey Feather armor set + grey owlite shield is preferred. Along with elemental and shadow weapons. Polaris is almost a must. Feel free to contact me if interested. And hopefully Hits and Bubu will come, not sure how geared they are for it. Please expect fire and shock status. I'll be taking Grey feather set, grey owlite shield, Voltedge, Polaris, Acheron, Shivermist. Also note I'm looking for those with the gear and skill to go.

Xylka's Dance of the Wolf: Xylka, the guild's alpha wolf, Has made an agreement with some of the beasts found in the Clockworks. The Wolvers Are permitting those in Aeonic Doom to test their inner beast and see if they are worthy of Alpha status. Xylka will oversee the 'chosen one' as he/she does battle against the Wolvers in their own den! Here are the rules and prizes. Rules:

You must be in a Wolver Den of your skill (i.e Stormface can't go into a T1 or T2one :P)

Xylka must be there to oversee and evaluate your strength.

You must be soloing, aside from Xylka in the background.

You get one weapon and no shield during the fight

You must be carrying a sword, no guns allowed. (Flouris, Barb, and Strikers reccommended!)

You get to bring only weaker shields, 1-3* maximum, weaker for the lower stratas. (Proto, Swiftstrike, Snarby Shield, for example.) to the battle mainly for shield bumping and cancelling. This is a survival challenge people, not an arena fight!

Wearing Wolver gear is reccommended, but not needed. (They will still attack you until you prove your strength!)

You get 1 chance at the Wolvers. Possibly 1 redo if you epicfail hard enough to make the Alpha Wolver laugh.

If you survive to the end of the Wolver Den, you win!

as the Wolver Den is further down in T3, You may use your normal equips to get there. When you get to the floor before, contact Xylka or another Guild member who is helping sponsor the contest and they will anchor the Den while you go to equip the contest equips accordingly. Upon re-entering, the contest will begin!

To get the grand prize, you need to have survived the level completely without dying. If you die, you lose, and either have to try again later, or use a revive as one of your chances. This will be noted on your final score. Also the Grand prize goes to the one who came out of the Den with the most health left and using the weakest equips. Vitapods will be calculated accordingly.

Prizes: This is not a huge contest, do not expect much at the moment!

• Myrtle's Massive Quiz: Myrtle is having a competition open to all Aeonic Doom members. The prizes will be as follows: 1st place - 500 ce, 2nd place - 350 ce and 3rd place - 150 ce. To enter you must answer the following questions and mail your entry in-game to Myrtle by 00:00 hrs on Friday 30th September (UTC). Please only send one set of answers - if you send more only the first mail will be counted! The winner will be the entrant with the most correct answers. Some answers you will find in the wiki, in the game, in the forums, or on other web sites, others you may have to ask your guildies for help with and others still you may have to guess or be more creative with (humorous answers may be given extra points at Myrtle's sole discretion). Once all the entries are received, the winner will be announced in-game, If you are offline the CE will be sent to you attached to a mail. In the case of a tie prizes may be shared equally between the tying contestants, or Myrtle (in her infinite wisdom) may decide on a tie-breaker activity or question. Good luck all!
