Emotes are social abilities, activated by typing a specific command into your chatbar. They allow you to express emotions and ideas quickly and easily. Sometimes emotes will have associated visual effects, or cause your knight to play an animation.
Another method of producing an emote is by entering /emote, /em, or /me, followed by the action you want your knight to do. Typing "/emote waves to her friends" would produce "(Your name) waves to her friends" in the chat window.
