Sick of all the pretty lights when using bombs? Do bombers bomb flashes annoy the ever living daylights out of you? Well it just so happens that I can fix that. Follow these simple instructions and remove that annoying bright flash from Nitronome, the obnoxious spikes from DBB, and just about every large flash bomb.
- WINDOWS
- STEP 1
Locate the explosions folder from the "spiral knights" root folder
spiral knights\rsrc\particle\explosion
- STEP 2
Right click inside the explosion folder and create a new text document. Now open the text document and copy pasta this text inside of it.
REN bomb_areaexplosion.dat bomb_areaexplosion_orig.dat REN bomb_snarbarb.dat bomb_snarbarb_orig.dat REN part_bomb_areaexplosion.dat part_bomb_areaexplosion_orig.dat copy /b royalconsume_vortex.dat bomb_areaexplosion.dat copy /b royalconsume_vortex.dat bomb_snarbarb.dat copy /b royalconsume_vortex.dat part_comb_areaexplosion.dat exit
- STEP 3
Now you need to go file/SAVE AS and name the file "bombfix.bat" (withoug qoutes) and save it.
- STEP 4
Now run your newly created "bombfix.bat" file ONE TIME and it will swap out the large flashy screen-hindering blasts with what looks to be a simple breeze.
- STEP 5
If you did this while SK was running, close SK and relaunch it. The settings will take place, and it will remove that awful brightness from blast bombs. Enjoy!
