The typical strategy for these monsters is simply to always keep an eye on them. Unlike standard monsters who attack based on how close you are and your actions, these monsters will aggro to any person and attack based on a timer instead of actions. The best method to taking down these tricky foes is to simply watch and wait for them to charge and then you move out of their way and attack their back. After their charge misses, They will turn around to face their target quickly, which makes it tricky to land hits alone. You may need a teammate to help attack if you can't do it fast enough yourself. Note that their resurrection circle can be used as a warning sign that one is about to charge in from off-screen, so keep an eye on the floor.

Slags now have an ability known as the "Rez Ring," which is the same mechanic used for the grim totems, enabling these enemies to revive any zombie enemies using a buff attack. However, this is rarely a problem since normal Vanaduke does not spawn more zombies on his final stage and any zombies spawned earlier would have likely been slain long before Vanaduke starts spawning slag walkers; only when facing Darkfire Vanaduke (who spawns Carnavons to accompany the cursed dreadnaughts) should this be a concern.

* Due to the fact no slag walkers spawn during the last phase of the regular boss fight, the Revive Buff ability is almost completely useless to normal Slag guards. It is far more significant when facing cursed dreadnaughts, as they will always spawn at least two carnavons to assist them in defending their fiendish lord.

Slag Guards are a type of monster found in the Clockworks.

Traits

Slag Guards appear to be large Slag Walkers outfitted in an Almirian Crusader Helm and Almirian Crusader Armor, wielding a large spear and a Blackened Crest. They attack by charging into Knights. Similar to Trojans, they can only be damaged with blows to the back. They also function as mobile Grim Totems, able to revive any Zombies or Bombies that die within their surrounding circle.

Varieties

Slag Guard

Cursed Deadnaught

Strategy

The typical strategy for these monsters is simply to always keep an eye on them. Unlike standard monsters who attack based on how close you are and your actions, these monsters will aggro any person and attack based on a timer instead of actions. The best method to taking down these tricky foes is to simply watch and wait for them to charge and then move out of their way and attack their back.
