Talk:Swiftstrike Buckler
From SpiralKnights
Some people are saying this thing only works for swords (which would fit with this bloody game's hatred of non-melee weapons); and others are saying it actually works for guns as well. Anyone have a clue? I haven't found one yet... Sunflash 11:55, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
- I can confirm it works for guns. It's simply that attack speed bonuses on guns are way too minimal since it doens't really affect the reload, so most times it goes unnoticed. --Kakelgis 13:07, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, the ingame description states it works for "melee" weapons. Yes, I bugged this an age ago. But it actually seems to influence swords and guns alike. You can verify this by looking at the speed bar for your weapons at the bottom of your Equipment/Progress tab and compare the state with and without buckler equipped. --Alfwyn 13:35, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
I've been told that attack speed increases are supposed to be more noticeable with slower weapons, but after equipping one of these for the first time and using it with my Troika, I couldn't really see any difference whatsoever. I tried using it with my Pepperbox as well, thinking that since the firing sequence is lengthier than with most guns that I might see some difference, but again it seemed to take exactly the normal amount of time for one "shot" to complete. I guess I would have to be fighting alongside someone using similar weapons without the buckler (or any other form of attack speed increase) to really measure this for sure, but... does a HIGH attack speed bonus really make so little of a difference that I can't tell at a glance? Or are people wrong and is the effect more pronounced on the weapons that started off speedy? --CrashFu 16:41, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- I know there's a very obvious difference between my Very High IAS Prismatech and any of my other plain alchemers. If that helps you any. Sunflash 14:48, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
