About Exalt
Exalt means to praise, glorify, honor, high or elevated in rank, position, dignity etc. We at Exalt see our selves as a group of nice people, we mostly enjoy doing clockwork runs but there is a few members who enjoy playing lockdown and blast network and do so regularly. Recently we started playing GLD ( Guild Lockdown ) every couple of days or so. Exalt is populated by both guys and girls, both young and old, some are skilled and some still learning the basics, some are quiet and the others talkative but we all share the same kindness and warmth for each other, we are a little online family. We have occasional guild competitions that we organize amongst ourselves and they usually end up being fun. Exalt is a serious guild, GM's and officers are online regularly and so are most of the members, people are promoted to a rank of veteran based on their personality, skill, equipment and time being in the guild but they get promoted upward based on their devotion to the guild and everyone in it. We are a helpful kind of people always trying to teach and support our friends in both battle and equipment choices, we are also providing video tutorials on how to pass the tests and how to handle some enemies in the clockworks. Most importantly we are all here for the fun with a friendly group of people. Exalt features regular every day voice chat over steam, we play many games together, games such as Minecraft, Terraria, Team Fortress 2 and many others. We have our forum and website which are used for organizing events and for the guild news feed. If you like what you read here and if you haven't found that perfect little commune for yourself, maybe Exalt is the answer.
How To Join
All nice, mature people are welcome to Exalt. Any member of Exalt can ask an officer or a guild master to invite their friend to the guild, if someone wants to join on their own, without knowing anyone in the guild they can send a whisper or a mail to one of the following: Zeeca, Akikita, Shaarmallama, Hayashi-Kuro or Skruzo ( in case they do not get a reply in 24 hours they should try the next person on the list ) or talk to anyone from Exalt they find in haven. Equipment requirements don't exist in Exalt for people who are good friends of our members but if you wish to join on your own you need to have a full 3* set or above.
Copy these questions, answer them and paste both questions and answers into the in game mail and send it to the person who is recruiting you at the moment or to two of the following: Zeeca, Akikita, Hayashi, Shaarmallama

Guild Rules
Exalts number 1 rule is be nice to and respectful of your fellow guildies and other Spiral knights players, feel free to use the guild chat to present yourself when you join and for any topic that you would like to talk about but bear in mind that there are children in the guild. Do not do anything that can bring the Exalt name down or get the guild in trouble. Act maturely and don't send random invites to people.
Members who haven't been online for a while might get removed if the guild has no room for new members, lower ranking inactive players will be removed first but any removed member should get in contact with someone from the guild to get re invited when he starts playing again and the guild will do its best to make room for him again. If a member left Exalt on his own and if he did so in a nice manner ( with no insults and raging ) he is welcome to rejoin and take back his rightful place at any time ( if a long time passed since the member left he will then rejoin as a recruit or with a slightly higher ranking )
In case you are too weak to join some mission but you got invited, you must warn the party leader that you are under equipped so he can give you the green light to join. For the remaining rules use rational thinking to imagine what they could be.
Starting out in Exalt
Useful information for all Exalt members can be found here on the wiki which is our main information source, news can be found on the Exalt website but some news will also be displayed on the wiki itself, Exalt forum is where we organize some events and on our Youtube channel is where we post our youtube videos that are full of useful info. In case you want to organize a event ( challenge or a competition or even a get together in the garden party ) you can use a forum as well but consult you're GM's or officers to post a notification on the wiki about the event or maybe give you some help or advice. You should check the wiki every now and then to see the changes on it since the wiki is regularly updated just like the website. Any questions you have, about gear or anything else that troubles you, feel free to ask anyone from the guild for help but make sure that you ask a person that has enough experience to give you a good objective advice, GM's and officers are often a good choice since most of them have alot of experience and they also will know who to point you to if they are not experienced in the matter you want advice for. Do not hesitate to ask other guild mates to join you're parties or ask to join theirs, being shy will get you nowhere :). When you join Exalt ask for a invite to the steam group if you are a steam user. Our GLD teams are not closed, anyone can be a part of them, just talk to people if you want to join some GLD match, same goes for GBN ( Guild Blast Network ). If you have any fan art made please inform a GM or officer about it so they can post it on the wiki and if you wish to post some screenshots that is ok as well. If in any case you are miss treated you need to notify officer or a GM about it, send a detailed explanation what happened. Most of this info was logical and unneeded for most but some are too shy to ask for help so we try to encourage them here.
Guild Promotions
Members are required to be in Exalt for a minimum of 1 week, have a full 3 star equipment set with at least one 4 star weapon and have proven them selves to be nice people, they need to know about the basic damage types ( which type of enemy is weak to which type of damage and which type of damage is their basic damage dealt, example: All fiends deal shadow as their basic damage and all fiends are weak to pierce damage ). They need to have done all tier 1 and tier 2 bosses. After meeting all the requirements a recruit can request to take his test and become a member by passing it, more details about the tests are given in the "Tests" section of the wiki. Member rank is respected in Exalt, being a member means you have proven yourself as being a nice person and that you can handle yourself in battle. Be proud of yourself :)
Veterans are required to be in Exalt for a minimum of 6 weeks. Members wishing to take this test must be a Vanguard rank. After meeting these 2 requirements a Member can request to take his/her test and become a Veteran. More details about the tests are given in the "Tests" section of the wiki. Veterans are very skilled, well equipped, honored amongst the guild which makes them model guildies. Basically, they are cool, as cool as Exalt veteran sounds :)
Officers An officer is chosen by the GM's. With the level of selection we apply to our members we end up with so many people that are good officer material that we end up raising the bar for officer very high. Officers are chosen when there is need for one, we need officers in different timezones so do not be surprised if a guild member quickly becomes an officer in a time zone where there aren't any officers active. To become an officer in Exalt there needs to be a need for a new officer, also, you must be well known and be a respected guild veteran in Exalt. Officers have to have big knowledge of the game and they are able to transfer that knowledge to others, officers are very helpful, always willing to jump in and help anyone, they solve problems before or as they arise, they recruit regularly and take care of the guild web presentations regularly ( wiki, forum, website, youtube channel ). An Exalt officer is a servant of his fellow guildies, a protector, teacher and also, just another guildie, but a guildie that is working in their gaming hours to make sure other guildies have it good and that is why we honor our officers so much.
Guild Master A rank of a guild master is a supreme honor given to a distinctive few who have tried so hard and worked so much for this guild that they ended up caring more for the actual well-being of their guildies than the game it self.
Tests
Members test is done in a T2 arena of the testers choice-Veteran/Officer/GM, (fiend and beast arena's are not used), recruit needs to finish the whole arena without dieing and they need to spawn the 8 gun puppy wave "clean" ( without any other enemies alive at that moment or with only one extra enemy ) , if a recruit doesn't know how to do so he should watch the Exalt tutorial - Members test video and ask their examiner for a explanation for all that isn't clear or not covered by the video. Practice run before the test is recommended. Death or failing to spawn the 8 gun puppy wave clean will result in failing the test and having to wait 2 weeks to retake it. During the test both the recruit taking the test and the examiner are in the arena but the examiner will die at the start and watch the recruit while dead. If a recruit has difficulty passing an arena he/she should ask for help from a higher ranking member, officer is suggested. The whole point of this test is to help those who have problems running the arenas, passing this test will require them to learn about the wave control in arenas which many people do not know about, learning the correct way to do a arena will make it easier on them to run T3 arenas and help them not to kill their fellow party members in arenas by spawning the 8 gun puppy wave during the time while other enemies are alive.
Veterans test is done on D25 ( Depth 25 ) level Firestorm Citadel, the Member taking the test needs to pass this level, he/she needs to complete the level without dieing and all enemies on the level must be dead, use of gates to protect against enemies in each room is NOT allowed. During the test both the Member taking the test and the examiner (Officer/GM) are in the level but the examiner will die at the start and watch the Member while dead. It's suggested to view the Exalt tutorial - Veterans test video before you attempt to do your test.
Officers test is done in the arena "The Gauntlet", Veteran taking the test needs to complete "The Gauntlet" without dieing. During this test the GM will be dead and watching the Veteran taking the test.

- 7 (12.10.2012) New forum Our old forum has been shut down but we already are working on a new one, you can register for the new forum here. Since the new forum is still a work in progress it will have some bugs but it is usable and the bugs will be sorted out soon.

So i set of to check out the chineese server and i hoped there might be something different there, maybe something like this:
From what i noticed the game takes the client settings from your already installed SK, the language will be English unless you log in from Asia i guess, they didn't have the steam promo with the hats and the promo that was on the forum i didn't have the luck to see if it actually exists, spectate doesn't exist and character limit didn't allow for a long name such as Enclavean, while i mention him, he posted a video on how to join the asian server. If i play some more on that server i will post some more news.

Events/Minigames
Exalt minigames
We came up with some and just enjoy the others, all of these have proven to be fun and we recommend trying them out:
- RAG - Haven is getting more and more knights who are trying to make some money in a manner that doesn't require any mist so some of them get jobs waitoring. Usually that job isn’t hard except in the notorious training hall where the robots love to surprise the waitors by grabbing their behinds and causing them to drop what they are carrying so all waitors there have to dodge those indecent actions. To make things more interesting waitors would bet on which one can manage not dropping their stuff the longest. That game got the name Robo A** Grab.
How to play RAG - ( Players enter the area with the robots in the advanced training hall holding pots and vials over there heads and they need to dodge the robot attacks so they keep their objects unbroken, the person who has the last pot/vial unbroken is the winner. Each person who's vial breaks has to kill all robots before leaving the room. Usually its best to start the round after someone blasts all robots with a bomb, a small bet of 1ce each or maybe 100cr each is recommended. )
- Jellyball - ( Jellyball is played by shield bashing jelly into an enemies goal, its played on the first level of the jelly palace in the second room which has 2 buttons that spawn enemies when the doors go down, those door openings are to be used as goals, a jellyball can be obtained in the first section where you are supposed to find a switch hiding in a rock, its easy to run away from the jelly there, clear out the next room, then lure the jelly back to the second area, the jellyball must not take damage from anyone because it will chase that person and that's considered cheating. Recommended shield is the proto shield. )

Guild Poster
We got an idea to make a big guild poster with everyone in. the poster would be made similarly to the image of the officers club where each member would take a screenshot while talking to the NPC ( Non person character ) near the Haven garden, while in the conversation with him your character will appear on the right, that is the image we will be using, everyone who wants to be on the poster is supposed to make that screenshots and send a link to it to Zeeca on steam or post in on the forum but if you have steam, go trough steam, add Zeeca by visiting the Exalt steam group ( Exalt-Spiral knights ) and add the member called "ice" and send him a link to the screenshot you previously uploaded, in case you are forced to post you image elsewhere you can just post a link to that image in the forum page instead of posting the actual image. As for the poster it self, the initial idea is to have all the cutout characters lined up by rank and have a little square around their image, basically like a yearbook. It will take Zee some time to cut out and combine all of those images, if anyone can do such a thing in photo shop or any other tool such as Pixlr, you are welcome to do so and just post your characters cutout.
Clockworks endurance competition - Coming SOON!
The new contest we are planning is Levo's idea, its a competition on which team can make it furthest in the clockworks using only 2 star equipment. This event will most likely take place in one of the future JK gates and it will last as long as that gate lasts which should be 1 week. This is why we are announcing this competition ahead of time. The rules for this competition are still a work in progress but most are already decided and they are:
- Party consists of 4 people
- Party has to start from depth 0
- Only 2 star weapons, armor sets and shields are allowed
- Health trinkets are allowed but only 2 star ones and all other trinkets can be 5 star
- Only 4 weapons allowed for the whole run and neither the shield or any armor piece is to be changed during the run, in case someone hasn't got all 4 weapon slots or both trinket slots unlocked, they are allowed to change weapons but the over all number of weapons used for the run has to be 4 and for trinkets 2
- Every party member has to take a screenshot of their character view while standing close to the end level elevator as proof of what equipment they used, those images need to uploaded on their steam profiles, in case some party member isn't a steam user he should have 1 other person from the party take a screenshot of their inspect window and upload them as well as their own. If another person is taking your screenshots make sure its always the same person.
- No costumes are allowed
- All UV's are allowed ( UV = Unique variant )
- Players are supposed to form their own teams and have one member apply them all
Further details about this competition will be displayed little by little until everything about the competition is worked out to the last detail. Heat up your 2 star items, they are cheap to buy and easy to heat up, when the competition comes there won't be much time.
Team Boss Battles - Coming SOON!
In this competition 2 player teams need to kill a boss in the fastest possible time, time will be measured by a dead observer who will be one of the judges. Every week we will get to fight a new boss for this competition, first will be:

Allowed:
- Any shield and armor
- Only 2 weapons
- UV’s (Unique Variant’s)
No allowed:
- Trinckets
- Vita
Penalties :
- Pill – 15 seconds
- Ce rev – 30 seconds
- Loss of heath at the end – 2 seconds per bar of health and 1 second for a half of a bar of health
- Party revive – Both players must stop playing Spiral knights
Penalties from both players of the team will be added up so both players affect the overall time ( If 1 players uses 1 pill and the other players CE revives himself their time will be increased for 45seconds ) Participation in this competition will be 25 ce per team member so 50 ce for the whole team. Any of the rules are subject to change before the competition starts.

Hai all the results for the compitition are as follows:

Original Judges were Shaarmallama, Aki and Sexyven (7), however 7 became unavailiable and emergency judge Yashi took his place. Once Yashi had finished judging we then had a problem! oh noes! all of teh 3 judges had entred the comp. Skruzo the orignal emergency judge was kidnapped by his friends so Zeeca teh 2nd emegency judge had to judge teh judges costumes, the marks that Zeeca gave made a fantabulous all round tie, everyone was a winner in the comp as Aki who orginally came 1st and Zeeca came 3rd, refused thier prizes, so the prizes were evenly given out between the remaining winners. 3 guildies chipped in and added extra CE and prizes to the prize fond since there were so many people sharing rewards.List of people who are entered in the competition:

Attention all Exaltian's due to its popularity last time it is time for another epic round of banter and swaggery. Exalt with be holding a new costume competition so we can show off our swaggy new costumes, have a laugh and take a chance at winning the grand prize. The competition starts now and and there is plenty of time to come up with a costume before the competition ends. You can enter costumes looking as silly, scary or as pretty as you like.
The contest will be finishing on the 22nd of September at 8pm gmt and to enter see one of the officers or Gm's who will be more than happy to take your screenshot and entrance fee/s.The entrace fees are as follows:

Yes! The first Exalt costume contest is here! We have all been looking so pretty we diceded to make a little costume contest so we can show off our ideas for a chance to win the grand prize but mostly for the fun of looking cute, silly, scary and just hanging out with the guild. The contest starts right now and everyone from the guild can participate, entry fee for the contest is 20ce per contestant. The contest winners beside winning the prizes will also get a chance to judge the judges! The contest won't last long so better get working on that costume right away knights.
Judging will be held on may the 5th at 9pm gmt in the haven garden, at that time join Akikita since she is the head judge and the banker for this event.
Judges will be in the contest too and they will also have a mini costume contest of their own that will be judged by the contest winners.
Judges will look at the costume in haven and on inspect to make sure they can catch the best sides of it, screenshots will be taken of all the costumes and then the judges will decide on the winners of the contest from those, the winners will be announced on the following day.
In case a knight can't make it on 5th of may he or she is to notify the judges so they can try and organize a small group of members at a different time from the main group. In case you have something come up on short notice still make sure to notify the judges, they might be able to help.
The contest entry fee ( 20 CE ) is to be sent to Akikita via the in game mail and then all the collected CE from contestants will go for some additional special prizes.

From time to time Exalt will organize some games within the game, a competition or a challenge of some sort, the rules for those minigame's will be displayed here with the results and all the other information needed for that event. If you yourself have a suggestion for such a competition or a challenge or even something else, feel free to talk about it and post a suggestion on the Exalt forum. All the previous events will be saved on the wiki.
T1 arena competition
Rules:
- Any rank can participate in this event
- Each try costs 10 ce ( to be given to the referee when he joins the arena, you can try as many times as you want but each try costs 10ce )
- The competition will take place in the Venom fang arena - Beastly brawl in the copper queen gate, depth 2
- The competition lasts as long as the copper queen gate exists
- Armor, helm and shield have to be 0 star ( doesn't have to be proto as long as its 0 star )
- Sword and gun can be 1 star ( you can use any 2 weapons you want as long as they are 1 star )
- !!!<NEW RULE>!!! Not allowed to use expansion mission items for this contest ( prototype rocket hammer )
- Only 2 weapons allowed
- No trinkets allowed
- No pills allowed!!! ( you are not allowed to use pills, using a pill will add 1 minute to your time )
- Each revive costs you 1 minute extra
- All boxes must be broken ( the minerals don't have to be broken )
To participate contact any of the veterans or higher ranking members who are online, talk to them before starting your run and invite them in the arena, they will then kill themselves at the start and watch you solo while measuring time from the moment you stepped on the button to the moment you killed your last enemy.
Prizes:
- 1st place reward is 1000 ce
- 2nd place reward is 2/3 of the ce we get from the contestants and a surprise 3 star item
- 3rd place reward is 1/3 of the ce we get from the contestants and a surprise 3 star item
- 4th place reward is a weapon slot upgrade and a 2 star armor set

- 6th place reward is a 3 star surprise item

All veterans, officers and guild masters are referees for this event, Zeeca will be the banker for this event, all veterans are instructed to pass the ce they got from the contest to Zeeca directly when they see him online, mail it to him or pass it on to an officer or a guild master. A veteran must make sure to die right at the start of the arena, the ref must suicide using a fov or faust if he owns it if not he must wear proto and die in the place best suited for the contestant ( suggested spot is the upper part of the room right beside the gate), Referee needs to measure time from the moment the competitor steps on the button and stop measuring at the moment when the competitor has killed the last enemy. If the competitors time is within the top 10 the results must be mailed to Zeeca. Mail the result and the ce together in the same mail and in the head of the mail write the contestants name and overall time with penalties.

Conspiracy Theory !
The Snipe ConspiracyEveryone knows that each Stranger in haven has a snipe on their person. There are two Exception, that being Hailoh and Basil, the stranger near the entrance and the traveling merchant respectively. Hailoh is being watched by many snipes in the local vicinity of him. And well, Basil is the only Stranger who really moves about (In theory, or he could just be occupying the same space forever). These two could also be hiding snipes on them (E.g. under their hat), but I reckon this is unlikely. *
On top of this notice how each of the major things in Haven are being controlled by Snipes? both the Auction house and the Training hall are controlled by these creatures. The symbol haven is the town on top of a giant snipe. As well as this, the busiest area of haven (Often in front of the auction house) has the most snipes there.
Why am I bringing these up? after having a discussion with the guild members we came up with a theory. Well, could it be that the Snipes are the ones in charge? The first alien creature you see when you arrive on the cradle is a snipe.
If the snipes are in charge, it could suggest that they are controlling the strangers, and suggesting what you should do. I mean, the strangers seemed to be willing to allow you to crash in their city rather easily. Especially since they are alien, and would imaginably have some kind of difficult communication differences?
Further evidence for the Snipes controlling the Strangers:
“While no knight has ever found a hint of mercy in those beady black eyes, one Stranger tells that snipes are, among other things, actually incredibly modest beings”
Notice how the Knights view is almost conflicting with the strangers view? Perhaps the strangers are trying to feed propaganda due to being controlled by the snipes.
If the snipes were the ones who caused the crash of the Skylark, then they would know where the crash site of pods are - this could just be coincidence of meeting up with abundant snipes at the crash site. However if you look at it from a different perspective, could they not be viewing how competent you are as a new species.
Now lets link this in with a quote from the Shadow lair echo stone:
“Twisting his creation into a game of death, it now devours all who enter its iron embrace”
if this is indeed referencing snipes as the creator, then, does this mean that the knights are part of their game? and as the newest contestant for these games, they are looking at us closely and observing our actions? (Furthermore suggested by the fact that there are few snipes down deep in the clockworks, only ones down there are actually looking at Knights who are researching stuff).
And here’s another one:
“Hold dearly this fire in you, for darkness will consume all the night if its stars begin to fade.”
Lets add in this quote:
“beady black eyes”
While looking at the eyes of a snipe, they are pitch black with a star in them (I know its supposed to be light glinting off them but it kind of looks like a star. Could the one who created the echo stone be using this as a metaphor for the snipes?
If in the extreme case that this is true, what does this mean for us? Well who knows, it could be that the snipes are in fact controlling the entire situation, and using whatever species it deems the most competent. The Alpha squad could have been taken in for dissection by them when they realised that the knights are actually quite competent as a species, meaning that they could potentially be used for assimilation. They are doing this because the strangers the numbers of strangers are quite low, especially in comparison to the numbers of knights (There are 11 left, and 3 of them have “Died” off, showing a death rate of 3 over 1 and ½ years). If the knights can prove themselves worthy of the snipes for it to be beneficial for them assimilate to the knights, then the sprites are infact parasites. It would also mean that the sprites, although they look quite small and weak, are actually really intelligent, much like the mice from Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. What does this bode for the Snipe’d stranger hat? Perhaps a production model to see if they can begin to control the knights.
- Additional theory: Perhaps the traveling merchants, of whom sell the crafting recipes (the only non-knights who do so) also have no snipes. Maybe they are proactively trying to get you away from supplying energy/crowns directly to the snipes for the 0-3* items they supply. Viewing this in mind, they also only hide in the clockworks now. Quincy used to hide in the rescue camp, but who knows, maybe he was picked off quickly by the snipe army, explaining his removal? Basil could be one of the few strangers who have yet to be affected by the snipes as he lurks in the clockworks to avoid the snipes who may not be able to defend themselves on their own down their... Unless they are able to begin to control the knights...
TL;DR: Conspiracy theory that Snipes are the big bad of the game and are actually trying to take control of us because they are parasitic beings.

Spacemanz and the runaway trojan
Location: FSC, Depth 27, last room.
What happens :O ?: After killing all the monsters there will be one TROJAN left, but the gate will be open! SO RUN TO THE ELEVATOR BEFORE HE KILLS YOU!
How do i do this spacmanz!?!?: After the second TROJAN spawns, dont kill it! let it roam free in its home. Then slaughter all the Slags :). Then another TWO TROJANS will spawn! SO NOW THERE WILL BE THREE OF THEM AFTER YOUR HEAD! But keep a eye on those two and make sure you kill them, but make sure you do not kill the SECOND TROJAN that spawned, now kill the rest of the slags... NOW RUN!

This is the list of the retired knights who are expected to make a comeback so they will not be removed from the guild if there is no room for new members, in case you need to be inactive for a longer period of time inform one of the officers or GM's of it so they try and save your spot for as long as possible, in case that isn't possible and you come back to the game not having a guild just contact someone from the guild and ask for a re invite.
