Greetings

Hello, we are eventually going to add animations to weapon pages and a method is already in place - check out the Obsidian Edge page. We have a specific naming format for these things, and they really should be higher quality than gif - like this one. This can make files very large, and it's a problem we are trying to work around. We would love your help in this project. Communicate so time isn't wasted doing things over again and such!

It is best to film yourself with an alt knight, so the entire screen doesn't move with your knight. --Novaster 16:21, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

We are thinking that we might have to use gifs for several of these, and will do a fancy linking thing with a "clean high quality visual" that leads to an animation. How familiar are you with wiki editing? --Novaster 16:28, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
Hi, well i am not quite familiar with wiki editing, is just i love the animations in the pages, like the one in the [Pepperbox] since you can watch it immediately, about the gifs, maybe webm will be better, won't it?, and i will love to help, thank you.
Ah, we're working to standardize these things. It's been a long and tedious step by step process. We've so far added a lot of information to the Infobox (that right-hand side thing with information), included categories, and for some pages have started to organize things into a consistent ToC.
Regarding animation, they're definitely wanted. Most users and formal wikis avoid using too much movement on their pages, as it is distracting and can cause slower loading. Linking to an animation/video is rather common, as it's just a click away and most users only need to see it a few times if at all. Alas, we cannot embed videos on this wiki due to "technical difficulties." Anyway I digress. We have a guide set up on the Style Guide page. Pop open that tooltip guide and use the tools listed there. Freeware such as FRAPS will definitely work well for this project. FYI, it is good to sign your posts on TALK pages (not mainspace pages etc.) with four squiggles (~~~~), there's even a button for it above the edit window (looks like a scribble/signature). --Novaster 16:52, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
