If any of you have played minecraft then you'll know what I mean. I have discovered a way in spiral knights to modify and colour your equipment. Instructions below are for vista only, xp might be slightly different, and mac, im sorry i have no idea.

-How?-

1. go to 'start' and click 'run'. type in %appdata%

2. go to LocalLow and open the file named 'spiral'

3. open the file 'items'

4. navigate through folders until you find the name of the equipment you want to edit.

5. open the selected image in a good image program such as fireworks, photoshop, or GIMP(paint can be used, though it is not recommended as it is crappy and can't handle transperency)

6. once you finish editing just save it.

-Models-

models are the files that tell your computer how to apply the image, like a net on a cube, a model will tell the computer where to wrap the image around. say if you wanted your shield to look like a sword, you would have to replace the model for the chosen shield with the model of a sword. then you would also replace the image of the shield with the sword.

-WARNINGS-

1. NEVER change the image AT ALL for any armour, this will cause the game to go blank and you will need to re-install or load backup files. And don't think "I know more than this guy and it'll be fine for me", it won't, trust me i tried everything.

2. always create backup files for everything you create, just in case, otherwise you will have to re-install if you make it crash or freeze.

-Notes-

1. Every change you create will only be visible to you, if you made your proto sword look like a leviathan blade, it would still look like a proto sword to everyone else.

2. Every time spiral knights updates, your 'texturepack' will reset, so save all your edits and backups somewhere before adding them to the 'spiral' folder.

3. In the same way, you can change what monsters look like, and anything else that needs an image, like snipes, or the strangers.
