Crowns

Crowns are the basic unit of money on Cradle. You can earn crowns by two methods: adventuring and helping to build gates. The number of crowns that you have can be found in the upper right side of your Spiral Knights screen under the minimap.

Crowns are used for:

• Elevator fees when going directly to Moorcroft Manor or Emberlight to adventure
• Crafting items
• Paying for items and recipes from vendors
• Purchasing crystal energy using the Energy Depot

Finding Crowns while Adventuring

Crowns can be found down in the Clockworks that you reach by taking the gate elevators. While adventuring, you will find crowns on the levels, as well as crowns dropped by killing monsters. You pick up crowns by walking near them. If there is more than one knight in your party, all the knights will receive the same number of coins. There are five different denominations of crowns:

Icon	Name	Description
	Copper Crown	A copper crown will grant 1 crown to each member of the party.
	Copper-Silver Crown	A copper-silver crown will grant 5 crowns to each member of the party.
	Silver Crown	A silver crown will grant 10 crowns to each member of the party.
	Silver-Gold Crown	A silver-gold crown will grant 25 crowns to each member of the party.
	Gold Crown	A gold crown will grant 50 crowns to each member of the party.

Earning Crows by Building Gates

Knights that find minerals while adventuring can used them to help build gates. If you contribute minerals to a gate, after the gate has opened, players that have contributed minerals to build it will receive some rewards including some heat and some crowns. Gate building rewards are given out at 8pm PST. The amount of the daily reward depends upon how many people have played in that gate in the past 24-hours.
