Who We Are / History

Before Divine Ordinance, there was a guild with a tyrannical, immature leader who demoted and kicked people for his own amusement, lied about his wealth and then bragged about it, and didn't listen to any of his Officers. Several of his members were tired of his leadership, and left the guild - forming Divine Ordinance on January 19th, 2013. Divine Ordinance prides itself on being a helpful and friendly guild.

Joining Us

There are a few criteria for joining Divine Ordinance. Any potential member must be:

  • Friendly
  • Helpful
  • Kind
  • Devoted
  • Mature
  • Active
  • Literate

Divine Ordinance does not judge based on the tier of any potential member's gear, we only care about personality and how you'll contribute to the community that we intend to build. If any potential member meets these criteria to some extent, their application will be immediately accepted.

Availability and Recruitment

Recruitment Status: Open

For the most part, guild activities, events, meetings and boss runs will be held centered around Eastern Standard Time (EST). Message a guild-master or officer in-game to be recruited. The list of officers and guild-masters can be found in the guild info box in the top right of this page.

Guild Rules (General)

  • 1. Acknowledge the seniority of higher-ranking members - obey orders within reason (if a higher-ranking member ever tries to force you to donate crowns or something absurd like that, don't do it and immediately tell a Guild Master).
  • 2. Respect all members of the guild (this means no name-calling, pestering, begging, or bragging).
  • 3. Be helpful when you can be.
  • 4. Put your guild-mates first, within reason (we're a community, let's try to reinforce that concept).
  • 5. Have fun, and don't be afraid to ask questions or go to an Officer or Guild Master for help (we're here to help!).

Guild Rules (Officers)

  • 1. Never abuse your power (this includes unjustified demotions or discharge, harassment, threats, and etc.).
  • 2. Never blindly recruit (always talk to people to see how they are before recruiting them, and if you're trying to recruit someone without being asked, don't pressure the person).
  • 3. Respect everyone (this is in general rules as well - but this goes double for officers since they're supposed to be role models).
  • 4. Always be helpful and friendly (your guild-mates will see you as a role-model and come to you for advice or help - always do so to the best of your ability).
  • 5. Be strict when necessary (don't let members of the guild get away with breaking the rules - warn them a few times, and if demotion or discharge is absolutely necessary, do it).

Promotion Information

Recruit: Newly recruited into Divine Ordinance.

Member: Upon being in the guild for 2-3 days depending on activity, any given Recruit will be promoted to Member.

Veteran: Any member can be promoted to Veteran by contributing to the guild. Potential Veterans should stand out from other members through eloquent speech, frequent participation and activity, etc..

Officer: To be promoted from Veteran to Officer requires seniority, a great level of respect and trust, excellence in rationale, eloquence in speech, and frequent activity. Guild Officers are expected to be exemplars to other members. Officers are promoted by a Guild Master upon discussion and agreement from other Officers as well as the Guild Master(s).

Guild Master: To be promoted from Officer to Guild Master requires that the current Officers/GMs of the guild sees an Officer as an exemplar beyond all others, completely unbiased with unrivaled rationale and logic, as well as having a good set of morals.
