According to the Spiral Knights Terms of Service, Section 6 (Restrictions), Part One: players are not allowed to "reproduce, distribute, publicly display or perform, translate, modify, adapt, create derivative works from, deconstruct, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble in any manner Spiral Knights or any portion thereof, including but not limited to any character, graphic, associated software or proprietary communications protocol used by the software or any utilities, applications, emulators or tools derived therefrom".
What does this mean in terms of screenshots? I took the liberty of posing the question, and this is the response I got:
"Typically it depends on the context of the posting. We have that in our Terms of Service to prevent things like people profiting off our artists' hard work. This means that if you're posting a screenshot for fun and not abusing that ability, it's fine with us. However you may not sell work that includes our art or similar activities. If you just wanted to include your art in one of your fanart pieces you're welcome to provided you don't try to sell it and provide credit for the art you used. That is a general rule of thumb, so if you want specific approval beyond that, please feel free to send us a link to your piece so we can give you a more specific answer. Plus it's often it's nice to see what our players come up with. :) (Cronus)"
