  • Aegis is the name of the shield onto which Theseus placed the head of Medusa, the monster whose gaze turns people to stone in greek mythology. He then gave it to Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom and battle tactics.

Helmets

  • The Heavy Demo Helm's description is a direct reference to the infamous line from Resident Evil, in which the protagonist is handed a lockpick and is told "Jill, here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you."
  • In Norse mythology, a valkyrie is one of a host of female figures who decide which soldiers die in battle and which live.
  • The Vog helm and armor has a volcanic appearance with elemental defense due to the fact that vog is created when volcanic gases (primarily oxides of sulfur) react with sunlight, oxygen and moisture.
