Swords

  • Voltedge's description mentions "1.21 gigawatts." This is a famous reference to the 1985 movie, Back to the Future, in which 1.21 gigawatts of power were required to allow the DeLorean to travel through time.
  • Lionheart Honor Blade's name comes from King Richard the Lionheart who was the medieval King of England in the late 12th century and had a historical connection with Robin Hood. Lionheart swords also exist in World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy.

Handguns

  • Callahan's name and description are a direct reference to the 1971 movie, Dirty Harry.
  • Sentenza's description mentions have been wielded by one who possessed "Angel Eyes." This is a reference to the 1966 movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
  • Argent Peacemaker - Argent is white silver although it is also associated with metallic gold. The original Peacemaker was a single-action Colt 45, owned by Wild Bill Hickok.

Bombs

  • Ash of Agni's description is a reference to the 2012 movie, The Dark Knight Rises. In the film, the main antagonist, Bane tells Batman "Once Gotham is in ruins, then you have my permission to die."
  • The Graviton Charge line's visual design (with the exception of Obsidian Crusher) is a reference to Vaati, an antagonist in the Legend of Zelda series.

Shields

  • Aegis is the name of the shield onto which Theseus placed the head of Medusa, the monster whose gaze turns people to stone in greek mythology. He then gave it to Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom and battle tactics.
