Hello, visitors and guildmates alike. Welcome to the online home of the Spiral Knights guild Sparthens. We're developing, but we have ambition and goals, like anyone. I hope you enjoy the page, and if you are a visitor, consider joining the guild. No matter who you are, you have the potential to help us. So join!

About Sparthens
We're a growing, all-tier, knight friendly guild! We may not be the richest, or the most popular, or the most, err, "Coliseum-ish", but you know. Guild's gotta start somewhere right?
To Join
To join Sparthens contact a GM or officer via mail and they'll consider(they'll probably let you in).
GUILD RULES
As a guild there are obviously some limitations in what you can do in the guild. These rules will be monitored strictly, and insubordination will be treated with. Please follow them.
1. No excessive swearing in the guild hall, in the guild chat, or at a guild member. If you're really angry an occasional "/angry (Knightname)" is okay but no more than that.
2. Try to be active. If you're gonna be gone for more than a month let a GM or officer know (if it was unexpected for whatever reason please mail a GM your reasoning)
3. Don't beg, whether it's for promotion, demotion(for some weird reason), crowns and energy, it just isn't allowed. The only exception is the /beg but no more than that.
4. Be nice. Don't have a short temper. Just don't.
5. Give the GMs some space. They have been working tirelessly to keep the guild active.Having problems?
If you have any problems with the way a guild member is treating you contact a GM or officer. If you wish to file a complaint for anything, send a mail with proper punctuation (I cant tell you how important that is) to a GM or Officer.

Rank Advancement
1. Donate at least 10k crowns.
2. Has stayed in the guild for at least a week, following all the rules.
3. Gives a reasonable idea for guild improvement to an officer or GM.
4. Has been active and participating in any guild activity that may arise (Therefore, this is optional when there is no guild event)1. Donate at least 25k crowns TOTAL (includes all previous non-member donations that the knight made)
2. Has stayed in the guild for at least a month, following all the rules.
3. Gives at leastt 2 more reasonable and unique ideas for guild improvement to an officer or GM. (The idea can be similar to others ideas, but must have a personal unique twist.)
4. (Same as Recruit-to-Member section #4)
5. Has completed a boss mission higher than their own rank with an Officer or GM to, in a sense, prove their worth. (If the knight is an apprentice, he does Snarbolax elite. If the knight is a soldier, Jelly King elite. Knight, Roarmulus Twins elite, Knight Elite, Rotting Metropolis elite. Defender and Defender Elite, Vanaduke elite. Champion and Vanguard, Shadow Lair Snarbolax, key provided by the knight in question.)
6. Makes a good impression to the Officers AND GMs; it is ultimately their decision if you advance or not.1. Donate at least 50k crowns TOTAL.
2. Has ACTIVELY stayed in the guild for a month and a half, following all the rules.
3. Participates actively in all guild meetings, giving criticism, constructive critique, other views, and unique/reasonable ideas of their own. The last one can be done at any time, as long as there is a Guild Master to review it.
4. Has actively participated in at least half of the guild events that went on when he/she was a veteran. Alongside that, he/she MUST also conduct an event of their own, something as simple as a guild jelly king run or as complex as a silver key fundraiser.
5. (See #5 in the Member-to-Veteran section) Note that this MAY count as a guild event IF AND ONLY IF the whole party is of people from the same guild AND a GM is present.

5. Wish a fond farewell to one of our outbound officers, Deathshadow-Tech. A loyal member of our guild, he has served tirelessly only to find that he wants to create a guild of his own with his friends from his school. No hard feelings! He has formed his own guild called Torchwood (the name sounded cool to him), but we will engage in close alliance with his guild. Best wishes! We'll help you along the way, Deathshadow-Tech!
6. Dale-Cohanger asked if there was a rank between Officer and Guild Master. If there was, he deserves it, big time. A DAILY donator, he has sponsored our guild without fail, and we have finally reached 200k crowns!! And its all thanks to him that we got the last 100k cr! And his birthday's on November 1st too! What better than to honor him then! On Nov 1, we'll be throwing a party, hopefully. Sadly, I cant come :( But putting that aside, have fun! THANKS SO MUCH DALE-COHANGER!

Guild Procedures
Taxes!
Yeah. Sorry. But due to the inactivity of around 40 out of 60 members of the guild, Theultralord and Phoenix-Wyvern have been forced to implement taxes. Dont blame them, those 40 forced their hand. Here is the proposed tax plan. It will be pretty lenient, but it will be monitored EVERY SUNDAY. Be prepared to pay! If you do not pay for one whole month without declaring absence, we will be forced to take... measures...
Here is how the plan will work.
Mandatory Payment Plan, as of November 2013
1. 1000 cr per WEEK per knight in the guild. Not including Alts.
2. There must be AT LEAST one 1000cr donation at the end of the month.
3. Tax will be "collected" the last Sunday of every week, and will be monitored using the Guild Record.
4. ANY KNIGHT WHO DOES NOT PAY FOR ONE MONTH'S PAYMENT (4k) WILL BE: a) interrogated if he comes online OR b) if he does not come online for a week after we figure that out, he will be demoted and/or kicked from Sparthens.
5. Notify an officer or guild master if you are taking leave and tell him/her how long you plan to be absent. You will be excused from all taxes and payments while you are gone. Notify when you will come back as well so we can keep your place in the guild.
6. We will appoint a tax collector officer. More on this part soon.
7. You can pay in advance. If you will be afk or just dont want to procrastinate, this is a great way to ensure your place in the guild AND help us out! And if you think 1k per week is too much, note that any decent t2 mission gives you at least 2000 crowns. I personally recommend the Jelly King and Rise or Fall, rank 5-2.

Guild Fundraisers
Silver Key Fundraiser
If a member of the guild is willing to donate the profit made off of an opened iron lockbox to the guild, he can start this fundraiser. Members must donate energy to that player, and the player will use the engergy to craft a silver key. The key opens the lockbox and something is found inside.
If the item is valuable, it will be sold off the AH and the profit will be split among the guild, the owner of the lockbox, and the biggest sponsor.
If the item is not so valuable, the item goes to the biggest sponsor for him/her to do whatever with it.
Guild Events
Guild Meetings
1. The meeting is conducted with parliamentary procedure. If you dont know what that is, search it up.
2. There will be NO deviation from topic UNLESS Phoenix-Wyvern is conducting a drinks break and is serving you drinks from his portable bar.
3. If more than half of the online guild members are not able to attend, the meeting will be voiced IN GUILD CHAT. If you dont know what that is, its just: "/g Hey. I'm guild chatting." on the SK Chat server.
4. Until we have a proper guild meeting room, all meeting will be conducted in the Sparthens Office in the guild's left wing. All members MUST follow the guild rules. Absolutely NO profanity at guild meetings. Guild Masters sit in the front, guests at the back of the table.
5. The center chair is reserved for whoever is holding the meeting, and ONLY them. That person gets to lead the meeting and carry out procedures.
6. A Guild Master or Officer MUST be present for ANY meeting to take place. The meeting MUST be on the weekends, because Phoenix-Wyvern, Theultralord, and/or Loduten are usually on then.
7. Have fun! :)
Guild Party
1. Guild MUST be open to all visitors.
2. There must be more than 4 people in the GH to consider it a party, and it CANNOT be a guild meeting.
3. Parties can be thrown, say, when we make certain accomplishments, like new rooms, new wings, new floors, new themes, etc.
4. Do what you want. Dont get drunk on Phoenix-Wyvern's drink cart. AND PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUILD RULES
5. An officer and/or guild master MUST be present.
