Any user can delete content by editing a page, removing or replacing content, and saving. The content will still be available via the page history unless the page is fully deleted by an admin.

Vandalism

I have already added in the flag for this page:http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Sddsdssdsd for deletion as it does not contribute in a positive way and is complete garbage. I have also asked for the used, Parirux to be blocked permanently from the wiki

Why delete pages?

Deletion often results in a mess of other issues. It's not always the best option.

Attempt to improve a dubious page before considering it for deletion. Someone or perhaps a group of editors put effort into its publication, and there are usually good reasons for these pages - though they may be outdated and require too much work when other, newer publications cover the page's function. It's a good idea to check the page's history and see if any editor comments shed light on the deletion decision.

In many cases, redirects should be heavily considered as an alternative in order to maintain both internal and external linking.

Sometimes a page is simply obviously in need of deletion.

If the page seems in need of deletion, then editors can call an admin's attention to the issue via proposal. This does not mean the page will be deleted - editors will tend to discuss the more important proposals, and the tag might be removed if a conclusion is reached. If an admin is available, pages will generally be deleted within a week if editors have not opposed the deletion, or the majority of those involved in its discussion agree that it should be deleted. As such, discussions and/or reasons for deletion are taken seriously, are witnessed, and carefully considered by an admin before full deletion.

A list of fully deleted pages can be found in the wiki's deletion log.

Proposing a page for deletion

Speedy

A list of pages to be speedily deleted can be found at Category:Candidates for speedy deletion.

Discussing whether or not the tagged page should be speedily deleted occur at Category talk:Candidates for speedy deletion.

Acceptable reasons to use this tag:

  1. No meaningful content or history (e.g. random characters).
  2. Test pages (e.g., "Can I really create a page here?").
  3. Pure vandalism
  4. Very short pages with little or no context (e.g., "He is a funny man that has created Factory and the Hacienda. And, by the way, his wife is great.")
  5. Reposted content that was already deleted according to policy.
  6. Temporarily deleting a page in order to move a page.
  7. Broken redirects or ones caused by typos during a page move.
  8. Duplicate images
  9. Talk pages of already deleted articles
  10. User talk pages of non-logged in users where the message is no longer relevant (This is to avoid confusing new users who happen to edit with that same IP address.)
  11. Empty categories
  12. User and talk pages on request of the user, where there is no significant abuse, and no administrative need to retain the page.

Ideally, when an admin deletes a test page or other page with no useful content, it is a good idea to put a note on the author's talk page explaining things, and preserving the deleted content, pointing them to the sandbox in cases of tests.

Slowly, major

A list of pages proposed for deletion, but that are not in need of immediate admin attention, can be found at Category:Pages proposed for deletion.

Discussing whether or not the tagged page should be deleted occur on the deletion target's talk page.

Acceptable reasons to use this tag:

  1. The page is obviously a result of sincere effort, but is severely outdated and would require too much work. Attempt to contact the author(s) and/or discuss the deletion of the page with several other editors.

Slowly, minor

A list of pages proposed for deletion, but that are not in need of immediate admin attention, can be found at Category:Pages proposed for deletion.

Discussing whether or not the tagged page should be deleted occur on the deletion target's talk page.

Acceptable reasons to use this tag:

  1. The page saw use in the past, but does not seem to currently serve any function, and is not a "threat" worthy of speedy deletion.

Copyright Violation

If the page seems to be in violation of Copyright laws, then it should be tagged for investigation into the issue. The file will either be deleted or tagged with Template:Copyrightsource after information about the content is discerned.
