The Spiral Warden

Upon entering a subtown, knights will encounter a Spiral Warden guarding the entrance to the town and next tier. In order to pass, a player must have a complete set of equipment of a minimum star value, as well as enough level tokens for the appropriate tier. Having this, the player will be granted access to enter the town and continue to the next tier.

Knights automatically earn a level token for each successfully completed level from start to finish. They are not a physical item in the game, so to check if you have enough tokens talk to the Spiral Warden by clicking ATTACK. He will tell you what you need to pass into the next tier. Knights can check level progress by clicking the P key and choosing the progress tab. Mouseover the tier's star to see your progress. Once the Spiral Warden has awarded you access to the next tier, you will have a star for that tier in your Clockwork Tier Clearance.
If the Spiral Warden denies you access to the town due to your equipment's star level, you can talk to Kozma, the Spiral Quartermaster to purchase recipes that will allow you to craft new equipment. Alternately, you can take the elevator to return to Haven.
