The Swarm is a dark entity that is often perceived as strange, black pixels floating around endlessly. The swarm is located inside the Core and is "leeching" off of the energy within it. Its power becomes more intense and tangible as Knights descend into its territory, and reaches a high concentration within the Unknown Passage.

Swarm Portal

A vicious swarm portal...

A small swarm portal that is used to resurrect fallen members of the swarm. It is more like a Grim Totem than an actual monster, and therefore it does not fall under a bracket. Any swarm-infected monster placed above these dark portals will have their defences increased until they are invulnerable.

Description

A shadowy cloud that fires bullets. Cannot be damaged or destroyed.

It offers absolutely no Crowns, Heat, Materials, or Vials, and (as part of The Swarm) they are invulnerable. Their defenses are enhanced on a Swarm Source.

Trivia

  • Since the Swarm Source buffs any monster, the Mecha Knight Kits can get buffed by it too. This is a bug.
  • The last level of Spark and Roar spawns a black pixelated mist floating around the area. This along the green Crimson Order insignia on the floor points that the Swarm and Herex may be related.
  • The idea that the Swarm and Herex may be related is shown in the dialogue of Herex in Dreams and Nightmares and when there is a eye and what seems to be black clouds appear before the mission starts.
