A variety of usables are available in Spiral Knights, usually purchasable at the cost of energy.

Note that, after obtaining a usable, you must activate it to gain its benefits. You can do so by locating it in your arsenal, under the Usable section, left-clicking on it, and selecting "Activate" or "Upgrade".

Upgrades

How to Obtain

Upgrades can be purchased from the Supply Depot in exchange for energy. Kozma also sells them since talking to her opens up the Supply Depot. Since all upgrades are tradeable they may be purchased from other players through the auction house or direct trade.

Trinket Slot Upgrade

Trinkets are a type of gear that bestow a variety of small, but useful benefits to your knight. Any player can acquire trinkets, but in order to equip them, trinket slots must be unlocked with an upgrade. Up to two Trinket Slot Upgrades may be activated at a time. Each one will unlock a single trinket slot for 30 calendar days. An activated slot upgrade will remain visible in your arsenal with the expiration date and time showing in the mouseover tooltip.

Trinket Slot upgrades cost 150 Energy each from the Supply Depot.

Weapon Slot Upgrade

Clicking on a yellow activated slot allows you to use an unactivated slot to extend the expiration date.

By default, players are only able to equip two weapons when they descend into the Clockworks. This limit can be increased up to four weapons by purchasing and using Weapon Slot Upgrades. Up to two Weapon Slot Upgrades may be activated at a time. Each one enables an additional weapon slot for 30 calendar days. An activated slot upgrade will have a yellow background and remain visible in your arsenal with the expiration date and time showing in the mouseover tooltip. If you have both an activated and unused slot upgrade in your arsenal, you can click on the activated slot upgrade and use the unused slot to extend the expiration date by 30 days.

Weapon Slot upgrades cost 250 Energy each from the Supply Depot.

Krogmo Coin Booster

Once used, this upgrade will increase Coins earned in Coliseum games by 1 for 24 hours. You may have up to 6 Krogmo Coin Boosters active at any time.

Krogmo Coin Boosters cost 300 Energy each from the Supply Depot

Heat Amplifier

This upgrade doubles the user's heat gain for 2 days, 7 days, or 30 days.

Heat Amplifiers for 2 days, 7 days, and 30 days cost 800, 1600, and 5000 Energy, respectively, from the Supply Depot.


Lockboxes

Iron Lockbox

A special prize box that contains one of hundreds of unique items that cannot be found anywhere else. It can only be opened with a Silver Key. Silver Keys can be purchased from the Supply Depot.

Iron Lockboxes are obtained as a prize from the prize wheel.

Mirrored Lockbox

A special prize box that contains one of the many unique items that modify the appearance of your Knight! It can only be opened with a Silver Key. Silver Keys can be purchased from the Supply Depot.

Mirrored Lockboxes are obtained as a prize from the prize wheel, or as a bonus for every $9.95 spent in a single purchase(that is, 2 Mirrored Lockboxes are the bonus for any purchase $19.90 or more, 3 lockboxes for $29.85, etc.) from April 18-22, 2012.

Anniversary Prize Box

Contains various unique Anniversary Prizes. Items are randomly chosen. No key is required to open.

Anniversary Prize Boxes were sold by Maskwell during the 2013 Caketastrophe in April 2013.

Companion Prize Box

Contains various items for your sprite and a chance for rarities. Items are randomly chosen. No key is required to open.

Companion Prize Boxes were handed out to all Knights who logged in from August 8th, 2013 - August 14th, 2013.

Dangerous Prize Box

Contains various unique items used by Desna's elite Recon Rangers. Items are randomly chosen. No key is required to open.

Dangerous Prize Boxes were given away for 2,600 Energy in the Supply Depot from September 25th, 2013 - October 6th, 2013.

Dark Harvest Prize Box

Contains various unique Dark Harvest Festival prizes. Items are randomly chosen. No key is required to open.

Confetti

Use this item to throw it into the air and celebrate good times. Come on!

Confetti is obtained by buying it from Bulky for 300 crowns during the Caketastrophe event. It is one of the few items available from the event that does not expire. Using it makes the knight display the /shout animation and creates confetti identical to the confetti released from treasure boxes.

Leaf Confetti

A fantastic party favor used in forest festivities.

Leaf Confetti is obtained by opening a Hunter Prize Box. Each Hunter Prize Box includes at least 1 Leaf Confetti.

Summer Confetti

When thrown, this summer confetti makes you feel all warm inside.

Summer Confetti is obtained by opening a Solstice Prize Box. Each Solstice Prize Box includes at least 1 Summer Confetti.

Winter Confetti

When thrown, this winter confetti gives you quite a chill.

Winter Confetti is obtained by opening a Solstice Prize Box, Winterfest Prize Box, or a Frosty Prize Box. Each of the aforementioned Prize Boxes include at least 1 Winter Confetti.

Trick or Treat Confetti

Celebrate the Dark Harvest Festival by launching a sizable gourd into the air. What comes next is up to the Punkin King...

Trick or Treat Confetti is obtained by opening a Dark Harvest Prize Box. Each Dark Harvest Prize Box includes at least 1 Trick or Treat Confetti.

Storm Caller

A party favor of the gods, used to summon a lightning bolt from the heavens

Storm Callers are obtained by opening a Stormy Prize Box. Each Stormy Prize Box includes at least 1 Storm Caller.

Party Flare

While never intended to be used in a party, Recon Rangers like to shoot signal flares into the air to celebrate missions where everyone comes back alive. Sadly, any Ranger will tell you that far too few of them are ever sent burning into the sky.

Party Flares are obtained by opening a Dangerous Prize Box. Each Dangerous Prize Box includes at least 1 Party Flare.

Body Modifiers

Eyes

Eyes allow a player to change the shape of their eyes.

Height Modifier

Height Modifiers allow players to alter the height of their character.

Personal Color

Personal Color allows a player to change their personal color.

Keys

Silver Key

A special key that can open any lockbox. Silver Keys can be bought from the Supply Depot or Kozma for 750 energy, and are destroyed once used.

Silver keys are tradeable and can be sold in the Auction House.

Shadow Key

A special key that can unlock the elevators into the Shadow Lair. It is obtained from Iron Lockboxes or the Supply Depot or Kozma for 1800 CE each. Only one is needed per party to unlock the Shadow Lair elevator, but is destroyed upon use.

Shadow keys are tradeable and can be sold in the Auction House.

Sprite Gear

All Pods requires completion of Rank 3-2 Mission 'An Eternal Bond' to use.

Drakon Pod
