The username's Whimsicality, but for simplicity's sake, call me Whim or Whimsy. I've been playing for a couple of months, and with the help of two close friends ( Mintsdale and Doctahwahwee ) I have become not only decent at this game, but fond of it as well! I'd consider myself a fairly skilled player, but that doesn't mean anything since my computer lags every other second! Isn't that just GRAND?

Dungeon Runs

I typically go and do many Jelly King runs, either from the terminal, or the whole gate, if there's any arenas. If there's a gate that produces a good outcome that gives at least 7K crowns or more, I'll run through it with ~~a bunch of morons~~ my guild or some friends. Considering CE prices, it doesn't seem all too worth it to do runs off CE anymore. My first Lord Vanaduke run was successful thanks to a few great Knights, but I hope to be able to solo him some time later!

Yes, I am a big fan of playing Lockdown. I honestly prefer playing on Tier 2, mainly since I find it most balanced.

So what do you use?

Tier 1

Wait, why do you have this?

Well... I haven't played T1 lockdown that much, so I can't really say. But, I have a very quick charge time on the Cold Snap, making it effective in defending bases and overall being annoying. The Static edge is just to have a chance of inflicting shock, which of course is a pretty good status to inflict. Though, from what little I have played, you just mash the attack button and hope the other player dies first. As such, virtually not much skill is required. I do have quite a bit of fun running around and spamming my Cold Snap, though. Cold Snap works wonders in roadblocking other players, and if they get frozen, there is ample opportunity to beat on them.

Tier 2

Wait, why do you have this?

Being a fast piercing weapon, Twisted Snarble Barb is a pretty basic choice to bring in, and it counters out the recon's slowed down sword attacks. Not to mention, it makes the kills so much quicker and satisfying once the foe's defense is nerfed. Even without a defense nerf, a few strikes from the TSB can bring down foes easily. Kilowatt Pulsar is good for creating a distraction to lure enemies away from a base, or stop a bomber from charging and spamming his bomb. Shock is also a good status to inflict upon others, as it gives you ample opportunity to strike while they're spasming, and it dishes out extra damage. As an alternative, I guess a Voltech Alchemer would work. The Dusker Cap and Coat are pretty standard, being some of the best armor you can possibly wear. I rarely play the Striker class unless teammates just aren't pulling their weight, or the stage is Forest. For some reason, that stage gives me trouble to play as a recon.

Tier 2 (ALT)

Wait, what about this junk? This is pretty much a duplicate of my first set, but with the armor changed, and two weapons added in. Chroma armor provides poison resistance, big deal. I just went with it because I felt like standing out, and I hardly lose in terms of piercing defense regardless. I kept my Pulsar and TSB for the reason that they work. The Nightblade is good for when the death mark just isn't the best way to kill an enemy isn't available. Being that it deals shadow damage, it stands out among all the Snarble Barbs and Flourishes, and it takes three to four hits to kill without the death mark. Sun Shards are an example of an amazing, yet underused bomb in Lockdown. Not only do they deal Elemental and Piercing, two important damage types, it has multiple purposes. Picking off foes from afar, breaking a recon's cloak, supporting teammates attacking someone, etc.

(Possible) Tier 3

Now, I may not be into the whole T3 Lockdown scene yet, but if I were to do this regularly, I'd suppose this set would work.

Heart Pendant Controversy(?)

Hey, Heart Trinkets are easier to get! What are your views on this? Well, I have a couple of Dual-Hearts myself, and I don't mind switching my Brute Jelly Bands to them if/when someone else happens to have them. It really doesn't make too much of a difference if it takes six hits or three, this game is still a matter of skill. And really, Lockdown, in my eyes, is a giant Arms Race. It helps to be skillful, yes, but you need to keep your gear up to date in order to keep up with everyone else!

Blast Network?

Once in a blue moon, when the planets align absolutely perfectly, when the derivative of f(x) is the inverse of h(x), when the world is in perfect harmony, I might just play this. I, admittedly, never was good at Bomberman. Just throw in some lag and input delay, and you got the perfect recipe for disaster. I may use this as an opportunity to wear my Bombheads, though. Not to mention they look pretty good with the Fencing Jacket...
