avoiding giant pages is probably a good thing but which way to go really depends how many monster types the game's going to end up with

the handgun template in particular is really wasteful of horizontal space and the article doesn't hardly have all the handguns yet so in the end it's going to be gigantic and i agree that's a bad thing

but on the other hand most monster families have less than a dozen members right now and there's really not a hell of a lot to say about most monsters so there's an upper limit that the pages can even get to

there's a bunch of ways to sort out all the monsters so if the structure looks like EG

  • All Monsters
    • Slime family
      • Box Jellies
        • Pink
        • Blue
        • Rock
        • Exploding
        • Super exploding
      • Lichens
        • Orange
        • Spiky orange
        • Giant orange
        • Blue
        • Spiky blue
        • Giant blue
        • Poison
        • Spiky poison
    • Undead Family
      • Kats
        • Pink
        • Green
        • Big blue

etc etc etc (too lazy to look up actual names)

Then you could sort out the articles in about a bajillion different ways, the two extremes being:

  • root "Monsters" Page with links to monster families
    • "Construct Family" page with links to monster types (puppies, lumbers, turtles, horse guys)
      • "Gun Puppies" page with links to types of gun puppies (MK2, love puppy, red rover, etc)
        • Separate page for every single individual monster

countless categories and subcategories blah blah blah

OR

  • one giant-ass "Monsters" page with every monster in the game on it -- comprehensive! but a PITA to navigate through

PERSONALLY i find no use for the monster types pages, and individual monsters are not so dissimilar, so i'd like to see it:

  • root Monsters page with list of monster families
    • Monster Family page with list of every monster (in-page headings for types)

without getting more granular than that
