I hope this letter finds you well. I just wanted to give you a heads up that starting January 9th, I'll be slinking back into the recesses of college and enter what (i think as of now, at least) will be a long-term low-activity period in Spiral Knights (a haitus, if you will). Next semester marks the onset of pre-med studies at their peak, and on top of that, I'll be working a couple jobs that will demand quite a bit of my time; all in all, this doesn't leave a lot of time to peruse the clockworks -- I'll hopefully be on every so often on weekends and such, but almost certainly not enough to burn all the mist away.

Aurora was founded on 10/8/11 by a small group of us with one overaching premise: to have fun in the clockworks and hang out with each other. We reached about twenty members that day, guilding alts and convincing friends to come join us. Needless to say, we've changed quite a bit since then, growing steadily into a community of 30 knights, 40 knights, 50, 70, 90, and now one hundred knights, with more applications coming every day. This influx of amazing people, all of whom faillessly embody the image of the ideal member that we construed that day, still leaves me speechless.

A community like this isn't built by one forum topic, or three guildmasters, or six officers. It's built by an essence of friendship, of people that want to band together and play the game for what it is: a means to have fun. And the most important ingredient in that mix, is the player. So, I want to take the time to thank you personally for being a part of helping build the Aurora community into what it is today. It might not sound like a lot, but believe me when I say, we couldn't have done it without you.

Though (as discussed in the forum post) rankings are mostly superficial and organizational in nature, as one of my final major acts as Guildmaster, I issue this charge to each and every one of you. Every single day, the bonds in Aurora go stronger; friendships deepen, and fill in the crevices. This is a guild of wonderful people, and I urge you to keep the fire of the community alive. Whether it's joining a dead party to revive, or keeping an eye out for requested recipes at Basil, or most importantly, having fun playing the game together, every little bit makes Aurora the steadfast and close-knit community that gives back all the more.

It has been my pleasure serving as Guildmaster of Aurora, and more importantly, getting to meet and play with you :). Thank you for being awesome, and I'll see you on the flip side!

~Sara

P.S. I'll probably be on skype much more than on SK, so if you have skype, please add me, OR join the <Aurora> skype chat, I'll be there too :D.
