About Us

Varia Knights is a small guild with one main goal: to have fun while playing! We are a group of knights that help each other. Whether you need some crowns to buy a new gear, look for a rare recipe at Basil or simply need some more firepower in Clockworks, you can go and ask other Varias for help. None of the members at any rank is required to pay crowns or stay active to be in guild. Nevertheless, the donations are appreciated as they help aquiring furniture for Guild Hall. As of right now, we do not plan on expanding Guild Hall rooms further. This keeps upkeep at 0, so the guild stays free for everyone.

Recruitment

This is very easy: simply send a mail to one of the Guild Masters or try to contact them trough other Varias and we shall send you an invite right away.

List of Important Members

Guild Masters

  • Mecha-Zero-Sion
  • Parnen

  • Saigai

Ranks

Ranks only indicate your time spent on expansion of Guild Hall and add minor privileges, as we do not plan on installing member/officer doors anywhere.

Rank Requirements

  • Recruit - Every knight who joins the guild. From now on they can be referred to as "Varia" for short (plural: Varias).
  • Member - You passed 1st exam and added at least 11k crowns total to guild tresury. You will get your own chair in command center.
  • Veteran - You reached at least rank of Knight Elite, passed 2nd exam and added 50k crowns total to guild tresury.
  • Officer - You reached at least rank of Defender Elite, added 150k crowns total to guild tresury and most of other active members approve our promotion.
  • Guild Master - Founders of the guild.

Note: Please notify one of Guild Masters of any donations to Guild Treasury, or it may not add up to your guild rank. Best way to donate to guild is to send a mail with crowns to Guild Master, who will deposit the crowns and notify you on your current total donation.

Rank Privileges

Each Varia is free to ask questions and send suggestions about the Guild to the Guild Masters through in game mail. You can read about other in-game rank privileges in an article on Spiral Knights Wiki.

Note for Officers: Any demotions and promotions must be consulted with Guild Masters. Inviting knights is free for everyone to do on their own.

Rules

There is one main rule: Keep the game fun for everyone. That means lending a hand sometimes, staying cultural when talking with others or giving some crowns (if you have spare ones). As you can see, this is what most players do anyway, so following this rule is a breeze.

If you happen to see someone from the guild breaking this rule, be sure to notify one of the Officers or Guild Masters, so they can resolve this problem.

Varia Knights Squads

Officers of Varia Knights have a privilege of organising squads within the guild. The leader of a squad is granted the internal rank of Captain. Each squad has its speciality and inner rules. Anyone who wants to become a member of a squad should contact the Squad Leader directly. Officers should discuss creation of a new squad with Guild Masters.

Varia Task Force

  • Squad official name: Varia Task Force
  • Squad internal name: Big Bad Wolvers
  • Commanding Officer: Captain Saigai

Specialty

Elite multienvironmental commando reinforcement unit

Description

Warriors of the Varia Task Force act in the most dangerous environments to which coming would be a death sentence for the regular Knight.

This outstanding crew fights with fiery enthusiasm. Their combat style is similar to what wolvers perform – confusing an enemy and dancing from left to right to finally land a fatal blow. Despite rather aggressive tactics, team members never forget to help allies. Not one envies Big Bad Wolvers' cooperation on the battlefield.

It is believed that the squad leader, Captain Saigai, is in possession of a rare blade which empowers him with might of the Spirit Wolvers. Few witnesses among Varia Knights claim that they have seen spooky wolvers follow every strike of captain's blade, but it is not yet confirmed by any outsiders.

Additional Information

About Exams

  • Exam for Member consists of 3 questions from The List of Questions. The List is in posession of both Guild Masters. You can ask any Guild Master to examine you at any time he is online.
  • Exam for Veteran is made in Tier 3 Clockworks. The goal is to reach The Core. Your exam will be overseen by one of the Guild Masters, who will help you, but won't do everything for you. It is not required to kill every monster you encounter there.

Examples of Questions

  • How to beat a Snarborlax - base tactic and suggested weponry.
  • Does a number of knights in the mission affect strenght of monsters?
  • Which status effect wont work on Undead?

Guild Trivia

  • The name "Varia" comes from latin word meaning "varied, miscellaneous". This reflects our guild: made up from people with various equipments, strategies, ranks and goals. It was also inspired by Varia Suit - an armor worn by Samus Aran from Metroid series
  • During Member exam, you may ask Guild Master to replace 1 Spiral Knights question (maybe the one that you didn't pass) with a Metroid trivia question (hence the name of guild is inspired by this series)

Leaving the Guild

We don't want to keep you here against your will - this is not a prison. This should stay as a fun game for everyone. So if you decide you feel like joining other guild, or that we do not meet your expectations, please contact a Guild Master, just to say "goodbye!". Be mindful, all your previous ranks and donations in guild are gone after 3 days.
