An upgraded Avenger formed from the purest sun steel. There are few foes remaining in this world that are worthy enough to be defeated by such a fine blade, and there are still fewer heroes worthy of wielding it.

Attacks

Basic Attack

A two-strike attack similar to other "heavy" swords. It has a long and wide reach, with average knockback.

Charge Attack

Divine Avenger Charged Attack

The knight takes a small step back and takes a wide swing with the sword, which emits three Divine Avenger-shaped energy beams which prime for a moment before flying forwards a fair distance before detonating. The beams travel through monsters and over gaps. The sword swing, beams and detonation all deal damage.

As of 2011-10-20, the sword beams now spawn on top of each other, and spread out as a very small cone, rather than the original wide spread pictured.

Bugs

When using Divine Avenger's charge attack when your back is touching the wall, sometimes the 3 golden projectile sword does not move forward, instead they stay where they are and explode

Trivia

  • The light around the sword of both the Gran Faust and the Divine Avenger bears a resemblance to Excalibur in Sonic and the Black Knight.
  • While the Divine Avenger's speed bar is much shorter than Gran Faust's, there is no significant speed difference between the two swords. Data collected by players suggests that the DA's combo speed may be slightly slower than GF.
    • The Gran Faust bar indicates that its speed is identical to the Leviathan Blade, while the Divine Avenger's speed bar is the same as a Troika's. Both these swords however are faster than the Troika but slower than the Leviathan Blade.
