Offenses:
Damage type(s) and Attack Speed influence combat. The attack style of the weapon in relation to the combat environment is also important. Consider both when choosing weapons to wield.

Combat

Basic Attack

A powerful, if slow, 2-hit combo that covers a full 180 degree arc in front of the knight on both swings. The first hit is stationary and has a one square radius with a fair knockback. The second hit will move the knight one square forward and does a stronger attack with a 2 square radius reach. The second hit has a chance to freeze, if frozen the enemy will not receive the knock-back.

Charge Attack

The Grintovec's charge attack will lunge the attacking knight about 2 1/2 squares forward and smash the area yet another 1 1/2 squares forward, dealing roughly double the damage of a normal sword swing; after the initial sword slam a beam of light will appear that deals the same damage as the first hit and applies heavy knockback if it does not freeze the enemies. The farthest an attack will reach is 4 squares away; because the time it takes to complete the attack leaves a window of opportunity for enemies to damage the player, its best to be standing this 4 square distance away so as to be out of range. The charged attack's knock-back even more potent than in the second attack of the basic combo, often throwing smaller enemies completely out of sight. It's good for hit-and-run attacks on enemies because of this range, damage and knock-back combo. A downside not unlike most other sword attacks, while a knight charges the attack, their movements will be slightly slower than usual. It's also important to remember keep in mind the far range but slow speed of this attack. Even when you learn to aim from the appropriate distance, keep in mind that by the time your attack hits your enemy may already have moved away, and finally do not forget that this attack can re-freeze Ice Cubes and put out an Oiler's flames.

Notes

The Grintovecs's attacks excel particularly at knocking back many enemies at once before they can strike, clearing them away if the player is being boxed in. The downside is that against single targets the slow attack speed hinders the overall damage per second, and against larger enemies that are more resistant to knock-back or enemies with ranged attacks, the player may find themselves getting counter-attacked before their own attack animation finishes. For this reason it's essential to have an alternative to the Grintovec's usual attack at hand when situations such as this present themselves.

Grintovec, Jalovec, and Triglav are all named after mountains in Slovenia with Triglav being the tallest.
