Rhendon is recruiting brave knights to join the elite Scarlet Scouts. These Recon knights travel fast and light to gather intel on the most hazardous areas of Cradle and bring the innocent to safety. Like the Recon Rangers, each Scarlet Scout is equipped with a special shield, The Final Gasp. The name serves as a reminder to all as to precisely when a Scout is permitted to drop it in battle.

Hazardous Prize Boxes are available for $4.95 each, 5 boxes for $19.95 or 14 boxes for $49.95.

Are you a real gunslinger? Spiral HQ has decided it’s time we find out! For this weekend we have removed auto-target in all Lockdown matches and we’ll be keeping an eye out for those knights who rise above the rest.

During this event we want you knights to document your adventures… or misadventures. To that end, we will be offering a few prizes for knights who catch amazing/amusing video of their antics or epic skills.

Event Information:

• Please keep your video to less than 3 mins.

• Upload your video to a website which allows you to link to it, such as YouTube, deviantArt, Tumblr, or Imgur.

• Knights are welcome to submit more than one entry.

• Provide a link to your video in the entry thread here.

• Video should be recorded during the Hardcore Mode Activated Event.

• Deadline for the event is 11:59 pm game time on January 25th. This way you all have a few extra days after the event ends to edit your videos.

• Please note that our TOS applies to links you post. Please avoid any inappropriate language in your video.

• Please keep the entry thread for posting your entry only. All questions should be posted in the discussion thread.

• Prizes will scale depending on participation. If we receive a large number of entries, we will bump up the prizes. The minimum prize level will include prizes for the top 3 with first place earning a Gate Crasher Helm.

We here at Spiral HQ would like to wish you luck in the Year of the fire snipe… er… Rooster! We’re celebrating the new year by equipping knights with gear that would make any Rooster envious. The Rooster Prize Box is available through March 2, 2017.

These contain all new items in various colors, such as:

• Buhgok Tails

• Fowl Cloaks

• Fowl Cowls

• Wattlesnipes

• Feathered Auras

An over abundance of roosters has also spurred other creatures to descend on the Clockworks. As you may have suspected, the black kats are once again storming the Moorcroft Manor Archives and consuming the valuable tomes it stores! We need all knights of rank 4-1 and greater to gear up! Do not fear going forward slowly knights; fear only to stand still.

You can find black kats in the Kataclysmic Confrontation prestige mission and various kat levels in the Clockworks. Be sure to collect Ancient Pages and visit Montague in Moorcroft Manor, or the Mysterious Crafting Machine in Haven, to obtain event themed items. If you perform a Dark Ritual and survive the encounter, you may find yourself in possession of a Black Kat Cowl or some materials which will allow you to craft some event exclusive gear.

More information on the Kataclysmic Confrontation can be found on the wiki here. If you have participated in a previous Confrontation and still have Ancient Page tokens, they are still valid! Ancient Page tokens do not expire. The Kataclysmic Confrontation will run through February 22nd.

The year is Marching on and Cradle is starting to thaw. In celebration of the annual renewal, Spiral HQ has released some new gear that’s sure to make your guildmates green with envy. Even knights without a green thumb have a chance to get their hands on one of 3 new auras or the Caladbolg.

The Lucky box contains items such as:

• Lucky Aura

• Clover Aura

• Rainbow Aura

• Bursting Pot O' Crowns (bomb)

• Caladbolg (sword)

• Rainbow (furniture)

Spiral HQ isn’t quite finished with you ambitious knights yet! Based on feedback, we’ve decided that one map simply isn’t enough. To that end, we’ve asked our gremlin to help engineer the following changes to lockdown this weekend:

• New Map: Pipeline. This is a poison themed level to thwart knights who are ill-prepared. This map will still be available after the event is over, but will be seen fairly often for a while.

• Auto-Target is off.

• Control points once again have obstacles that will cause both teams a number of problems including status effects.

Side note:

On a Rocket Puppy map, be prepared to run from a hidden recon knight misdirecting rockets towards your face.

Today through April 17, 2017: Spiral HQ has assembled prize boxes from the past year together into a Surprise Box. When you open a Surprise Box, you will randomly receive a past prize box and confetti. There is also a chance to find a Stately Cap costume helm! Thank you all so much for playing Spiral Knights! We've had a busy year at Grey Havens setting up a new home for Cradle. We're excited that we're now able to focus more on the development of the game.

This year has seen the addition of the Casino, new items for guild halls, new PvP modes, new events, new items, various bug fixes, and a few new PvP maps. It's our hope that next year brings even more from our gremlin engineers who are already hard at work.
