Guild Mission

<Hydra> was founded on February 17, 2012, by Arquebus and Warmatrix, two long-time players and friends. Our mission is to help others achieve the same enjoyment and success that we've had in Spiral Knights, and to that end we've filled our guild with helpful, friendly players who share our vision.

About Us

We hang out in the Guild Hall, run dungeons, help newbies, and occasionally jump into guild Lockdown. Our members range from seasoned veterans to fresh podlets. We have members in many timezones all over the world, and our five star officer corps is active and ready to assist at any time of day. We also run raffles and the Cautery Cup, in collaboration with The Nights Watch! Non-guildies can participate to a limited degree, but guildies get the best and most fun bits. Read on to find out more!

Join

Contact an officer or guild master if you'd like to join. Anyone can enter, regardless of skill or gear! Drop by our Guild Hall, you can usually find someone there to help you.

Rank System

Rank within the guild is at officer discretion. All Hydra recruits start as, well, Recruits. Once you've proven yourself to be a good and trustworthy person, you will be promoted to Member, and gain access to our mist wells and vault of 0-3* materials and weapons. Continue to be an asset to the guild and you may be promoted to Veteran, which allows you access to even more space in the vault. You cannot bribe your way into a higher rank. If you have to ask to be promoted, you probably won't be.

Guild Rules

We have a few rules to help ensure that our members all have a good time, and our resources get to people that need them:

  • No begging! We worked hard for our money, and so should you! We're happy to help you run dungeons, but don't expect a handout!
  • You must be able to speak enough English to understand these rules. We have no problem if you have a different first language and prefer to speak that most of the time, but guild business is conducted in English (what the officers speak), and we would like our membership to be able to understand any instructions or announcements we may make.
  • Two officers are required to make major changes to the Guild Hall outside of their rooms.
  • Most of all, be nice to your fellow knights, guildmates or not!

Any member found to be breaking a rule will receive a warning the first time, and will be removed from the guild the second time; there shall be no exceptions. Please understand that the rules are here for a reason, and that they only work if everyone follows them!

Mist Wells

Availability

Currently OPEN for use by those of Member Rank and up. (Sorry, Recruits!)

Location

Second floor, in the east wing, next to the main office.

Usage Guidelines

  • To withdraw from the well, add 65 crowns to the treasury for each unit of mist you withdraw. That's only 6,500 crowns per tank!
    • Failure to pay for well use will result in your IMMEDIATE removal from the guild; no other warnings will be given.
  • Once the treasury has 180,000 crowns in it, the officers may divert their spending to buying more crystal to put in the well!
  • Please avoid using the well more than twice per day. If you are found to be taking more energy than is reasonable, you may be demoted.
  • Please avoid "prepaying" for your well use far in advance, or depositing for other members; doing this makes it difficult for our record-keepers to find abusers.

Alliances

Hydra is pleased to announce that it is allied with both The Night's Watch (Guild) and Owsla (Guild)! Members of that guild shall be considered Hydra members for all of our events!

Events

We hold a number of weekly events to have fun together and help fund the guild:

Raffle

Currently, raffles are not being held. Members will be notified once the raffles begin again.

Every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, Hydra holds a raffle! Prizes vary from week to week, but may include rare materials, energy, UV'd weapons and gear, and other cool stuff!

  • Tickets are 500 crowns apiece.
    • The more tickets you buy, the better chance you have of winning the prize! Do remember that this is a raffle, though; buying lots of tickets doesn't guarantee a win.
  • Non-guildmembers can enter too! Just contact one of our officers about buying tickets, and we'll put you in! Only members can win the week's grand prize, though.
  • The drawings will take place at Noon, Pacific Time. You don't have to be present to claim your prize; it'll be mailed to you.

The Cautery Cup

Cautery Cups have not been held for some time. We'll let you know when they come back!

An exciting race event in which teams of two attempt to complete Royal Jelly Palace in the fastest time, with betting just like a horse race! See the forum thread for info on the next race and how to participate or place bets!

Lockdown

Want to play a game of lockdown with us? Contact one of our Guild Masters, and we'll set up a team and time to play!

Random

Sometimes you will see a few of our members in a random game of Lockdown. Why don't you watch them for a bit? They may not be the best players, but they sure are interesting!

Guild vs Guild

If your guild wishes to set up a match with us, contact one of our Guild Masters. It's preferred that matches be set up with a minimum one week window to allow for proper scheduling.

  • All match times are posted in Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5). Please make sure to recalculate it if you are in a different timezone!
