From SpiralKnights
From the Release Notes:

A Slimy Spike Storm Strikes the Clockworks! A shimmering storm is rolling through the Slime levels of the Clockworks, leaving mysterious energy spikes glistening in its wake! At first these pink storms seemed harmless, even pretty, but the spikes they leave behind are having a dramatic effect on the local slimes and all their gooey brethren!

Look for Anomalie in the Arcade before you brave the storm to help investigate this new phenomenon. Maybe a concentrated energy source like this can be put to good use? But act fast, the forecast indicates the current storm will dissipate soon.

Slime Spike Details:

  • A new weather event has arrived, affecting Slime levels of the Clockworks and depositing mysterious energy spikes that change slime behavior.
  • Slimes and other creatures in slime levels will be inexplicably drawn to these new energy spikes. Spiked creatures will be tougher than their unspiked kin.
  • Reach a spike first and you'll shatter it into materials for you and your party to pick up. The total number of spikes is unchanged from the previous weather event, but they now act as standard materials that need to be collected by each knight.
  • Because spikes are no longer shared by the party and act like other materials, they are no longer counted in the HUD.
  • Spikes gathered during this storm will stack with materials from the previous storm as you work your way towards your goals.
  • Spikes found standing upright can be picked up and carried overhead, then thrown! A well-aimed throw will damage any monster it hits, before shattering into materials for knights to collect. Slime enemies beware!
  • Spike rates now vary by Difficulty, so tougher runs mean richer storms.
  • Collect spikes with your party to acquire exciting rewards like fire crystals or the powerful Slicer line of guns.

This event will run through the 28th. However, keep an eye on the skies. Mysterious storms like this have a way of rolling back through the Clockworks again before too long!
