Wiki problems and introduction
Hello! Yes, nowadays it is difficult to make edits because of the 403 Forbidden error. Usually you get it when you submit more than ~6000 characters. You can work around that by editing only one section instead of the entire page, but sometimes that's still not enough (the Emote List you've mentioned is one such example). In that case you need get creative with the section editing and split your work between multiple edits, so that you never edit more than ~6000 characters at a time. Here's what you can do:
Prepare the finished text of the section you want to change. When ready, start editing the section. Delete what was there, copy as many lines of your finished text as you can without getting the 403 error and add a new header at the end. Save this first part. Then start editing at the newly created header. Delete the new header at the top and, again, copy as many lines as you can without getting the error and add a new header at the end if there are still lines you haven't copied. By deleting the new header you basically join the current section with the previous into a one larger whole. Save the changes and repeat as many times as necessary.
The 403 Forbidden error also used to be triggered when the page contained the text "style=" anywhere, but it no longer seems to be the case. Workaround for this was to write it as "style{{=}}" or to use templates. The error also blocks uploading images (except very small ones). I don't have a workaround for that. There are a few other broken things on this wiki, for example category pages which show only images but not regular pages (except old ones), but these are relatively small issues compared to the 403 error.
Anyway, if you'll have any other trouble with editing the wiki, whether you get strange errors or just figuring out editing in general, feel free to ask below, on my talk page (create a new section by clicking on the "+" next to the "edit" button at the top) or on the forums. For general MediaWiki help, I found the MediaWiki help page to be quite useful (the "Help" link in the menu on the left leads there too). I also feel the workaround above may be somewhat confusing, so ask about that if you need, too. If you reply below, you can use ":" at the beginning of a line to offset it a bit to the right and finish your reply with "--~~~~", which will get automatically replaced with your name and timestamp.
