About Help:
You may find yourself needing help. You shouldn't hesitate to voice this to the guild, or ask directly for help. Someone's time is something that most people will give you freely. Asking for advice should equally be freely given. Asking for specific materials can also be helpful to complete that important recipe. One thing you should not do however is ask for energy or orbs. These items are largely monetized in Spiral Knights, and won't generally be something someone else doesn't need just as much.
The other thing you should think about is, what is it that I have that I could provide for someone? Whether it's your time, advice, materials, or even a laugh, paying it forward to your guild brothers and sisters makes the Vasari Imperium a better place to be.
About Donations:
Your illustrious leaders realize that different members will earn crowns at different rates. One method that is proven for contribution without making you bankrupt is if you do a "guild run". This simply means to take the crown total from one of your mission sessions (be it prestige, arcade, or whatever), and donate that total to the guild. Set your own policy. Maybe you want to do a guild run once a day, or once every two days.
