So basically I have this embarrassing little RPG about Spiral Knights, especially centered around why the art style is what it is. There really are people in those suits of armor, but they wear black padding for protection and to obscure their features, because the Gremlins have been using their identities against them by spying on them while they're outside. Even Haven is not truly safe from their prying eyes, only in the barracks can they finally show their faces. But even then...it is a risk.
