About Us
Upon first sight, Spiral Knights believe we are named after the famous "Aegis" shield. However, this is not the case, because we are not named after a virtual item, but a mythological shield worn by Athena. Now, the more modern concept of doing something "under someone's aegis" means doing something under the protection of a powerful, knowledgeable, or benevolent source.
Our name "Aegis Team" therefore means that we protect using knowledge and power.
We are a casual guild, dedicated to having fun, socializing, and making friends! We accept knights of all tiers and skill levels!

History
The Beginning
Aegis Team was started off by a small group of friends on August 23, 2011. Xxqwertyxx and Chrizmaniac jointly raised the resources required to found the guild and Xxqwertyxx formed it.
Later On
About a month after the guild was formed, Spongerino created his own Spiral Knights account, and eventually obtained the rank of guild master. Hitranger joined shortly after, and eventually obtained the rank of officer.
Advertising
Artistbma asked if he could make Aegis Team a page and so he did. The Aegis Team Wiki page grew through contributions from Artistbma and Chrizmaniac. Artistbma also created the "Aegis Team recruitment thread". The guild page and forum thread greatly contributed to the growth of Aegis Team.

Recruiting Campaign
Chrizmaniac created a theme song for the guild and let everyone listen to it. We all liked it, and Chrizmaniac put it on the wiki page. This video also included a picture of our official guild emblem. Chrizmaniac decided to make a trailer for the guild after the guild masters agreed to hold a recruiting campaign starting July 1st 2012. The trailer featured members running in the clockworks, playing Lockdown, and having fun. Little did we know, we had just created the very first Spiral Knight's Guild Trailer in existence.
The Great Aegis Team
Aegis Team received many more applications to join with the debut of the trailer. We grew to a great 70+ members. But the History isn't over. New members come often. Aegis Team has been growing slowly but surely, and to this day, it is full of loyal, active, and sociable members.

4. A guild master or officer will bring you to the Clockworks for one depth for a diagnostic test.
5. Upon successful completion of the depth, the guild master or officer will brief you on your performance.
Things to Consider Before Joining
- We don't like "guild hoppers". If you are joining just to leave later, it will be better if you do not join at all.
- Think up of a nickname for yourself. It is compulsory for every Aegis Team member to have a nickname.
- We're not a "hardcore" guild. Aegis Team emphasizes fun and friendship.
- We accept "alternate" accounts, as long as you stay active with it and tell us your main account.
- Most of our members are based in North America, so if you live on the other side of the world and want to join, most of our members may be still asleep.
- If you are not online for a month, you may be kicked out of Aegis Team (There are a few exceptions). If you happen to be be kicked but want to rejoin, mail one of our guild masters or officers for a re-invite.
- We WILL NOT tolerate disrespect to any guild members in any way, shape, or form. Doing so will lead to consequences based on the magnitude of the act.

How To Get a Higher Rank!
- Recruit: If you don't have a nickname, or you commit a serious offence to Aegis Team.
- Member: Have a nickname.
- Veteran: There are three ways in which a member can become a veteran.
-Prolonged membership in the Aegis Team. -Showing merit in battle. -Doing something for the benefit of the Aegis Team.
- Officer: Elected by the guild masters. Be trustworthy, reliable, sociable, and respectful. Must know the recruiting process. Must be able to keep law and order. Note that when all officer positions are filled Aegis Team does not need additional officers.
- Guild Master: Impossible to obtain unless promoted so by Chrizmaniac or Spongerino.
Guild Master and Officer Responsibilities
- Guild Master ONLY responsibilities:
-Kicking guild members.
-Decorating the guild hall.
-Approval of events.
-Approval of the use of guild money.
-Approval of important decisions.
- General officer responsibilities:
-Recuitment.

There are three branches of Aegis Team bureaucracy which are ADMINISTRATION, DEFENCE, and LOCKDOWN. The following officer positions available for these branches.
- ADMINISTRATION
1. Event Coordinator
-Organizes special events.
-Suggests events to Guild Masters for approval.
-Can use guild funds for events with Guild Master(s) approval.
2. Public Relations
-Maintains guild page.
-Maintains forum recruitment thread.
-Makes sure Aegis Team has a good reputation in the forums.
-Asks Guild Master(s)for approval when making a change to guild page.
-Takes screenshots of Aegis Team and obtains links of Aegis Team content and posts on the guild page.
3. Treasurer
-Ensures guild upkeep is paid weekly.
-Fills in lack of funds.
-Reminds guild members to donate to the treasury.
- DEFENCE

-Deals with inter-guild conflict.
-Keeps Guild Masters up to date with inter-guild conflict.
2. External Affairs
-Keeps Guild Masters up to date with intelligence about other guilds, events, and updates.

Aegis Team believes in fun and friendship. We ask fellow guild members to join clockwork runs, have random (often weird) conversations, set up lockdown matches, crack jokes, troll around in Haven, and even do a bit of poetry! Enjoy your time and play nice!
Lockdown
Aegis Team is a guild that loves playing Lockdown, the PvP game where players capture bases belonging to the other team. In addition to random team lockdown we play guild versus guild Lockdown occasionally. If you like Lockdown, this is an ideal guild for you. One of our guild masters, Spongerino (Hamster), LOVES to play Lockdown. If you don't see him doing runs, you will see him playing Lockdown.
