Role Playing Ideas (this section is retained for historical purposes only, it is no longer used)
Add role playing prompts here; the format should be that all characters are labeled generically (Char A, Char B, etc..) and the starting idea should concern Spiral Knights in some manner. Prompts should be less than 500 words. Please put prompts in spoilers like the example below:
"They look so beautiful," commented Char A from behind the rails of a lookout overseeing the gears of the clockworks, "does this place ever sleep?"
"Consider this," from behind her sat Char B, polishing a brand new pistol and sliding it into his belt, "have you ever seen a gremlin sleeping on the job?" There was a metallic jingle in the air as the two stared out at the golden lights between the massive gears and shafts. It looked like a city at night, with spotlights and buildlings with lights in the windows. Perhaps those gears really did house a whole civilization within the never ending cogs.
Char B turned and placed himself next to his sister. Char A sat quietly, sighed deeply and spoke softly, as if she was about to tell a somber secret, "Haven't you noticed? There seemes to be a smog oppressing this place wherever you go. Its like trying to see with glasses that are tinted with the slightest shade of green." There was a sudden ferver in her voice, "That green has been bothering me, Char B." Char B looked coldly away as he pretended not to notice the hazy lime fog that surrounded the place.
The Undying Knights had built a guild hall not far from a large gremlin power generator and overlooking an eerily mutilated cliff face. There was a shallow banging sound off in the distance and the stagnant air seemed to vibrate with a churning sensation. Just as the two began to wander off into their own mental reverie, Char B snapped back upright and looked behind himself. He stared blankly at the heavily plated door on the other side of the guildhall. The lookout was actually elevated from the main floor with two staircases on either side of the landing for easy access. Between the staircases on the ground floor sat a large, wooden table spanning from the wall of the lookout all the way down to the doors that now held Char B's attention. Just as Char B began to turn back toward the slowly orbiting clockworks, his eyes caught Char A's; she'd been staring at him observantly for some time. The two immediately looked away agian, Char A slightly abashed at having taken so much curiosity in Char B's actions.
Just then another guildmember burst through the doors loudly, heavily panting and wide-eyed as if he'd been running for his life. The disheveled guild member tried to stutter something but was too out of breath to make a legible attempt. Char A and Char B quickly picked themselves up and rushed down to thier fellow member, Char C and brought him to one of the many chairs surrounding the knotted wooden table.
"Who did it happen to this time? Char B asked bluntly. Char A and Char B met eyes again, they may have been caught by surprise at Char C's sudden appearance, but they knew all too well why he'd rushed in so fervently. It had been going on for weeks now, and the two weren't sure how they were going to handle it this time. The churning and whining and ticking… never-ending… was enough to drive any knight insane. Dark, lush grass beaded with warm dew, coalesced from humid mist that shifted through the tightly-knit trees. Cracked stones, laced with ancient and intricate markings, surround the fields, the only signs of civilization left in this jungle. Lights litter the sky in shimmering fashion, their eerie glow dancing among the thick, pointed brambles. All too real… and yet the churning and whining and ticking go on… and tell a different tale.
This is the Clockworks, the puzzling death-trap that tests the limits of every knight brave enough to step forth. Each new depth, a new world, locked within a twisted, horrific machine, filled with vicious beasts.
Three knights, donned in glittering, colorful armor, glared down at one such beast, its red eyes fading to a pale green as a cloak of shadows oozed off its mane. It howled faintly, weakly reaching a brutalized claw at (Char A), but (his/her) massive sword flicked the beast’s blow away.
“You’re not so tough without your armor,” (Char B) chimed, “Snarbolax? More like SNOREbolax! Get it? It’s like-“
“Quiet,” (Char A) snapped, stooping down to face the beast up close, “I thank you for your sacrifice…” (He/She) muttered a quiet prayer, then, (he/she) raised the mighty blade and drove it down into the beast. One last whimper, and the beast slumped.
“Don’t get all sentimental, just grab the fangs and let’s go!” (Char C) growled, cocking a long pistol, “If I get outbid again and lose my new hat, I’ll never forgive you!”
(Char B) chuckles, rolling a bomb around in his hand, and strolls out the gate. “I’m starving… I wonder what kind of grub they serve at Moorcroft…”
The other two knights quickly collect their loot and follow (Char B) out, (Char A) chastising (his/her) partners until their voices echoed down the elevator shaft. Meanwhile, three pairs of eyes glowed out from the gloomy forest. Three sets of paws scampered out of their cover and surrounded the fallen Snarbolax. And three voices howled mournfully, as only three orphaned cubs could cry.
As the echoing call subsided, the three young pups turned their fierce stares to the gate… their eyes burning with revenge…For Whoayee's Enjoyment
