Equip shadow offenses and piercing defenses. Shadow is super effective against the multitudes of slimes, and the few constructs are neutral. The Royal Jelly Palace is a region. Regions categorize levels with similar characteristics that have been incorporated into the Clockworks.

Description

The Royal Jelly Palace is an ancient castle overtaken by a legion of slime monsters. It is unclear what purpose the castle serves, though it is rumored to house a Royal Jelly, said to be nobility within the slime kingdoms. If true then the purpose of the castle is likely to serve the Royal Jelly, and nothing more. — Gate Icons

Characteristics

Each level map is fixed.

Several levels of this region are always a permanent feature of one of the arcade gates. Their presence in an arcade gate is indicated by pink rook icons and their location is always in tier 2. Oddly, in the 5-2 Interface-icon-PvE.png Mission: The Sovereign Slime the levels are shallower, starting at depth 14 and ending in depth 16.

Levels are populated by multitudes of Jelly Cubes. A few Lichens, Constructs, and Silkwings make appearances. Of special note are the mini jelly cubes, a special monster found abundantly in the Royal Jelly Palace and rarely in other places. A boss known as the Royal Jelly is encountered in Battle Royale.

The background is a very bright view of the Clockworks, as if seen through tinted glass.

Similar castle-like structures can be seen in the Candlestick Keep, Firestorm Citadel, and Scarlet Fortress. Tapestries seen around the Palace have the same design as the ones found in the Fortress.

Notes

A version of the Royal Jelly Palace has been "frozen over" as a Shadow Lair, featuring a similar group of levels and monsters with a freeze theme.

A Recon Module left by Parma can be found in the treasure room after defeating this region's boss.
