Lancer Knightz (Guild)/Handgun Clips Per Minute

This page is part of the Lancer Knightz data collection project. These particular data were collected by Shuraka (where marked with S) and Donkeyhaute, during 2011 and 2012. The data show the speed of many 5-star handguns, as measured by the clips per minute. Based on that measurement and the wiki damage numbers, we also compute the resulting damage per second.

Procedure

The tester takes the gun to any safe area, such as Moorcroft Manor. He (or she) rigs his equipment to have the desired level of attack speed increase (ASI). He fires full clips for a solid minute, without doing any gun-switching techniques or shield-cancelling. He records the clips per minute in the hidden HTML comments in this table. The test is repeated, until it seems to settle on a single answer for the clips per minute, which is then entered in the table explicitly. However, even then the result should be regarded as approximate.

The table shows each handgun's clips per minute, at each level of ASI from -2 to +6.

Some remarks:

  • In most cases, each increment of ASI increases the clips per minute by 2%-5%. The geometric mean of the increases is about 3.6%.
  • Blitz Needle seems not to benefit much from ASI at all — less than 2% per increment. Perhaps the large cool-down period at the end of the clip is not shortened by ASI.

Damage per Second

The following table shows the resulting single-target damage per second (DPS) from firing full clips at ASI+6 (at depth 28, with no damage bonus coming from UVs, armor, or trinkets). These numbers reflect the Spring 2012 handgun damage increase. They ignore damage from status. The Polaris DPS is a range, depending on unexpanded vs. expanded shots. The alchemer DPS is a range, depending on whether ricochets hit or not.
