Wiki is not restrictive

You told users not to interfere with your Wiki article. There is a warning just before the summary text box that says:

If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here.

If interference is that much of a problem for you, then save it on your computer instead, and don't order people not to do things that is clearly allowed. Saphykun 14:42, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

I don't mind my articles being edited, I merely want to finish it a bit, especially that these edits were so minor that they could easily wait, not an actual contribution. Also, I did not order anyone, I merely asked in a harsh manner. --Prizmat 15:04, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

If you cannot work in the wiki editing environment, you can try putting things in User:Prizmat\sandbox or another such location. It's especially bad etiquette to attempt to yell at the Game Master that Three Rings put in charge of the wiki. --Equinox 15:45, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Well, to be honest - this was my first wiki article and it was quite annoying when it started refusing changes I made, because someone started editing it even though I wrote Work in progress, do not interfere. While I understand it's "The rules", isn't editing someone's big article while they work on it bad etiquette too? No hard feelings, --Prizmat 17:13, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Again, if you need to take hours on end to edit an article, you need to be doing it in a sandbox or other location outside of the main namespace. There is no "reserving" of an article in the main namespace and nobody can divine that you are still editing it three hours after your initial creation of the article. When you create your first wiki article, it is best to read the advice of fellow editors who are more experienced rather than blowing up and having tantrums. --Equinox 17:38, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

I'm not going to argue about who's right with an admin, on a public view, but I'll just say that writing it required some double checking, testing stuff ingame, etc. and I'm neither a full time employee, nor a dedicated wiki editor so it's perfectly understandable it took some time. I kind of hoped someone will appreciate a big guide, but if that's the atmosphere on this wiki, I guess this will stay as my first and last article. --Prizmat 17:46, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
